I had a pretty good weekend, loaded some 38's and did a little shooting.
Here's my first 24 rds at 50ft.

Nice group, FD. The Smith Model 15 is a sweet shootin' iron indeed.

Two weeks ago I practiceda little from the draw @14 yards. Single shot and wasn't rushing to set a personal best off the timer.

I was satisfied even though I was shooting an outdated, almost 100 year old sidearm design in a slow unsexy 45acp round. Tumble loob Lee boolits and Unique, I had everything going against me.

I stopped before I got the stray and brought it home to impress Mrs C.

She yawned and asked me if i was going to leave the target in the chair all night. :(

I can assure you that all my targets don't usually look as good as this one.
I really took my time and concentrated for this group.

I can't shoot that well on my best day. I'm hoping if I ever happen to be forced into a self defense situation, the loud noise from my shots and my screams of terror will be enough to disuade anyone from harming me. For a 50 foot distance I would be very proud of those targets.

Did you notice when the kid in the stall next to you was peppering your target with 22s?

Nice shooting with a Model 15 and wadcutters!

Fifty feet offhand is pretty hard to get a group the size of a baseball. Looks like you did it!

Cohutt.... you also did yourself proud. For real. :)

This from last summer. If my Model 15 wasn't already my fav wheelgun, this group sealed the deal.

I'm all about recycling, had an old target from the Ruger MKIII 22-45 and noticed the holes were almost nonexistant once the paper was smoothed out.

I tried some quick DA shots from resting and the results were ugly at best.
I've never been in a self defense situation. I can only imagine the tug of war between your instinct to duck/run and your mind telling you to try and get off an accurate shot.

all i can say is i may not be accurate but i'm half fast. No target but here's a score posted on GSSF web site i'm pretty pleased with . it breaks down like this from left to right:

place total time 5TG time penalty Glock M time penalty Plates total time penalty

10 Ed Ellison* 61.12 22.25 0.00 22.25 18.88 3.00 21.88 16.99 0.00 16.99

notice on the 5TG i had no penalty time it took me 22.25 seconds total for 3 strings of fire, 10 rounds each on a total of 5 targets, or 6 rounds per target, with no penalty time added. the closest target was 12 feet and the farthest 2 were at 55 feet.

as much as tight groups are impressive i can't get excited about them without a time factor involved. i'm also pretty pleased to have the * after my name. i also have some 500 award certificates for shooting perfect scores in GSSF indoor matches. i have a 10.78 from Conyers last year on the plates in UL. if you don't know that's 24 eight inch plates in 10.78 seconds. doesn't require much accuracy or skill to hit a 8" plate at 33' but i'm pretty proud of it. i think over 500 shooters and i was quickest on the plates.

Huh. Guess I don't have as many target pics as aI thought. I'll have to take more. Here results from an outing with my XD 45 from a year or so ago. I believe I was working on draw/shot and double taps. I think I was about 10 yards away as that's what I usually set up for when practicing drawing and DTs.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k298/chewybaca67/Fire%20Arms/PA060001.jpg I was shootin' 230 grain Rainiers and 230 WW cast bullets over Titegroup and Unique. Lower righthand corner was a couple of mags full of either the above aimed, but not too slow fire.
