Any of you have any experience with 8mm Nambu ?
I seen some in my travels, got ta wonderin about it.
It's kinda like a hot .380, except 8mm. Stout recoil for a lil round.
Looks like a lil .357 Sig in shape

I've loaded a small quantity once upon a time. Long ago federal was going to introduce ammo for that caliber, then got cold feet. They made brass and bullets, then sold them all to Old Western Scrounger when they were still in So Cal. CH4D made dies. Main caveat is to be sure the locking bolt and bolt have matching serial numbers, as a bunch of hand fitting was done on these pistols. Still just a hot 32, no match for the crackkilla
be careful with these pistols as there are external ways to fire them - move the wrong part loaded and it will shoot [not the trigger]

Actually, only the later pistol, the Type 94 can do this. And it isn't easy to do either, I've tried it. Actually, not much different than doing it with a Beretta 92, which also has an external sear bar.

I use to shoot my Uncle's war trophy Nambu years ago when I was a kid. Combat accurate but very enemic, power-wise, with Jap issue ammo.

I'm fond of mid-caliber pistols and revolvers, but have never thirsted for a 8mm Nambu. The ballistics weren't enough better than the 32 ACP to justify the acquisition of tools and components, and after getting a 7.65 French M-1935 up and running I had had enough of weird-azzed brass collection. At least the 7.65 French can use 32 SWL and 32 ACP dies to make ammo, once you get the special-order shell holder from RCBS.
That 8mm Nambu case could contain a pretty good load, if its designers saw fit to build a strong enough pistol around it. The 30 Luger isn't much bigger, and is well ahead of the Nambu ballistically.
