nice
I haven't loaded any 223 in a couple of years even though I have been accumulating components. Maybe it is about time....

This is the 1st rifle rounds I have loaded. A lil different than loading pistol not to mention I put the dies in reverse so I couldn't use the auto indexing on my press.
Oh well they still came out good & I just loading em like you would on a single stage press....
Thnx to JJB for letting me borrow his swager for getting rid of the crimp on the WCC primer pockets....

Thnx, you taught me how to reload so I know you can load up some rifle ammo.... Aint nothing to.
Just a little different since you dont have to expand the case mouth. I thought I was shorted a die at first... Felt stupid I tell ya...
Holding them little tiny bullets is kinda hard though...
I gotta get me one of those adjustable charge bars or a double disk kit.

coincidence ... today I shot the first .223 loads that I made a couple of months ago. They shot great, first rounds through my new AR as well. We shot at the Scout camp range (connections), just 50 feet, but even I could do a 1" group :)

Do you have a bin labeled "unfinished" too? I can see where it might get confusing :biggrinjester:

Nice. I just ran a hundred or so on Friday. Got a nice load worked up for some SS109 slugs I have. :sixgun:Now I just have to load up some of the 70g's I worked up in bulk. Bad thing about loading a ton of stuff...you run through components like crazy. I hate using up my nice new powder. :( :D:D

The best thing I ever did for my .223 loading was to put a RCBS Uniflow powder measure on the turret. Makes adjusting the load so easy it isn't funny. Since I load .223's in about 6-8 different loads with different powders, I was changing my Auto Disc too much...and still was unable to adjust it in small enough increments. The Uniflow cured all that.

Jtrade, I don't know if the adjustable charge bar will have a lsrge enough cavity to throw that much powder. IIRC mine throws around 20 or 21 grains of 2400 when adjusted all the way out. Not sure how the density between the powders compare though. I guess it couldn't hurt to try, I love my charge bar.

Oh, I was not sure exactly how it works or if it worked along with the disks. I used the 1.53 Disk & it wound up throwing right at 22.1gr everytime.
Guess I just need to get the double disk kit so I can combine disks.

Or adjust the charge bar to throw half the desired powder and raise the ram twice.
Use what you got and save money.

To me that would be asking for a charging mistake.
Everyone knows reloaders can't count past 1 unless they've had special training.

Well, it might not work for everyone, but it should suffice in a pinch.

Nice lookin rounds. do you have a chrony? I'm curious what that load runs at. I use H322 as my primary powder for .223. I have a few thousand loaded with 23.3 grns of H322 and a OAL of 2.215 using win 55's and OFB. mighty fine load I must say with speeds right at 2850 fps. very accurate load

I've been building ARs lately, so have been experimenting with different bullet weights and loads. Believe-it-or-not, got some good 100-yd group results through my 1/8 RRA varmint using 69gr. Sierra Matchkings, pushed by AA2200 powder. Would have thought that 2200 would be too fast for those bullets, but shot a pretty decent group. Should probably chrony some of them, as they might be grouping well, but just barely humping along downrange.
Been working on some loads for 75 gr. Hornady hpbt match bullets last few days. Tried some 2520 powder today, but had it loaded a little too hot. Was loading from memory (mistake!) and was about 1.5gr. over published max. Will tune down a little and see how they do.
Also have a 1/7 barrel, using a YHM 16.5" chrome-lined, fluted barrel. Shoots the 69s great, so I'd bet it'll do well with the 75s also.
Glad I scored those 30k primers @ PV @ $90 per 5k a few months back!! :)
First four shots measure .429", center-to-center. Flyer puts the group @ just over .7". Guess I'll opt for the Ayoob method of measuring groups and stick with the .429"!! ;)

No chrony. If yours shoot good mine should too since I used just a tad less powder & the OAL is identical.

That may not be a flyer. The group is still nice though.
