FYI-Nov 27, 28 & 29 Harbor Tools will have 6" digital calipers on sale for $9.99 (regular price $29.99) . They are stainless, have a storage box and a spare battery. The quality seems pretty good for the price.

I have a pair, got them cause they were inexpensive, and I'm still using thing as they are accurate/repeatable.
Amusing throught - after owning these and looking at handling some more expensive import digital calipers with other names silkscreened on them or the box. I believe they are the same mfgr.

They do look the same as several others I've seen, especially the ones at Sears and Graingers

$9.99 is a hell of a deal.

I got a set off of flea bay a couple years ago for .99 cents in a dutch buy. I gave em away because I like the Dillon set I've been using forever.

They do seem to be functional and well made. They aren't a Starrett by a long shot, but they don't cost near as much.

The one I had came with batteries too.

I have a pair and they aren't bad. Buy a few and loan them out when firends come a knocking. If it says Brown & Sharpe, Starrett or Mitutoyo on it, it doesn't leave my Kennedy unless I know you really, really well.

I have found them to be as accurate as any caliper within a thou on my gauge block set, which is all you can ask for from a caliper.

I have been using the HF one for years now, might be worth picking up a second just for the future

Same here. I bought a set after looking at some that cost $50-$100. Looking at the screens and settings they appear to be the same manufacturer without the fancy name printed on them.

I might have to pick up a couple of them at that price. I'm old school for the most part when it comes to measuring. In fact, I like analog timepieces better than digital.

I like Brown & Sharpe calipers the best but Have 6" and 12" Mitutoyo's at work. Been doing a lot of metric stuff lately and digital is Definitely easier for that.

I can work with metric on paper but once we start taking measurements, argh. Only way to go.

I am also one of the sic bastards that like an analog caliper. Heck, I even use an analog multimeter from time to time.

Never had any analog calipers before. :skep: Had a nice starrett vernier set that I foolishly gave away cause I thought they were to slow to use.
