So if you started today and trimmed 1000/day........
:3:Will they still be producing and selling them that far in the future?

Never used the X die, haven't considered yet.
Someone 'splain how a die can size and keep brass from stretching too.

If you don't have anything constructive to add to the conversation please don't waste our time. BTW, I have it on good authority you have enough .223 brass to supply Remington for years.

I used this die on over 5000 once fired cases and it functioned flawlessly. It continues to resize correctly. I needed a full length sizer for PMC cases.

I'm not sure what the other folks below are doing wrong. I've got several X-Dies and all of them work very well. Lube Die in Station 1, X-Die in station 2 and I can crank out some rifle ammo nearly as fast as loading pistol ammo.

I have experienced no bullet damage, but I initially chamfered all of my cases - have reloaded them 4 times with no bullet damage, but I have seen the chase grow in length - exactly what this die is supposed to prevent. I followed the set-up directions perfectly. I took quite a bit of time to do it and checked, rechecked, and rechecked again.

After initial set up and triming cases were loaded and fired. After resizing, cases still needed to be deburred. Apparently when the case mouth hits the mandrel to restrict case growth the case thickens just enough to restrict bullet seating and damage the base of the bullet upon seating. Not a good thing for accuracy.

Been using the X die this last year, works great.. also discovered that if you remove the decaping pin (which simply unscrews) it will form the case mouth just a hair smaller thus providing ideal neck tension on the bullet, therefore eliminating any reason at all for using a crimp die.
love it

Did you get the X-die in small base or regular?

I got the small base die.:patriot:
Here is the steps I go thru for my cases
1- Clean cases for 2hrs in walnut/mineral spirits mix in tumbler
2- lube cases
3- re size & decap using a Lee pacesetter FL die
4- trim to 1.740, chamfer, debur case mouth(using the 3 way cutter), debur flash hole, uniform primer pocket all on a RCBS case prep machine
5- swagged using a Dillon 600
6- lightly re-spray cases with case lube & alcohol mix
7- run cases thru the X-die without decapping pin
8- tumble 30 min in walnut media to remove all lube
9- tumble 2-3 hrs in corn cob with 2 cap fulls of car polish
cases come out to 1.743 after X-die sizing +/- .001 and better than new
Also, I found out that with the cases trimmed to 1.740, when setting up the X-die, you wont have the 4 threads showing like the manual says (at least in my setup). Mine shows 2 1/2-3 threads with a good firm contact. just figured this may help in case you set it up based on 4 threads to show

Good question.
