Hornady FTX flex tip bullets - anyone loaded em yet ?

I been checkin out some of the new (to me) stuff out there in bullet designs and ran across a flex tip bullet that Hornaday makes for tube fed guns.

The red tip is made of some kind of flexible material. I see prices on em droppin like a rock at some places. Might be a decent revolver round. Might hafta remove the rubber (or whatever it is), but that looks pretty easy.

Any of you loaded with these ?

That bullet design turns a .30-30 into an HONEST 200 yd rifle. The BC is just so much better than a flat nose.
They wern't avaliable for quite a while......Hornady replied to an early email by me that they wern't planning on making them avaliable as a component, only in factory ammo.
The outcry by owners of the new lever guns caused them to change corporate thinking !

I haven't shot them, but have heard nothing but great things about them in a 30-30. I plan to get a box at some point.

If I had a .357 I would definitely give them a try. I do have a .30-30, but I also have a -06 to cover that range better.

I am one of those who emailed and emailed asking them when they were going to sell them as components. They kept pushing the line that they had no plans to sell them as components.

Well, since then I have worked up a nice load using a competitors bullet and I am not going to go through the trouble again so they aren't going to get my 45/70 bullet business.
