Is there a way to melt the solder and burn off the acid flux portion so you could use the tin. I have a couple of rolls of the stuff and was hoping to use it up during a bullet casting session.

I was under the impression that using this type of solder/flux combo was not a good idea when added into your alloy.

I do have a small iron crucible type pot I could use just for such a "smelt". It's no great loss if it's not practical to do this just thought I'd ask.

I'm thinking you'd be better off finding a plumber and trading it off to him. This link doesn't sound encouraging.

Forgot to add, FWIW...I wouldn't have a problem using it.
