IMNOTW = In my neck of the woods..
Not that I want to buy or shoot factory ammo for plinking or hunting, but I actually thought it was a good thing to hear that ammo at Wal Fart was showing up in higher quantities not normally seen of late.
Guess the Alabama contingent hasn't yet received the coveted memo.

It's sad to see ammo shelves look like that Nitesite. I too am not buying the stuff, but would like to see it available to the average Joe.

I could give a chit about Wally's centerfire stock if they would just have a couple milk cartons of federal 22s for me occasionally. I have not found any in the two here for over a year.

Yep, keep Federal bulk pack .22 in stock and I will buy some every pay check. Once I get to 100k rounds I'll probably pull back on the reigns.

Ya know--I'm getting a little tired of ammo and component shelves looking like a Soviet-era grocery store in Moscow. I limited my disgust to the panic buyers for the first year of this bullsquat, but we're well into the 14th month of this nonsense--and only a dribble of components seems to be freeing up.
What brought this situation to a head (for me, anyway) was a posting on Cast Boolits from an attendee at the SHOT Show last week. Specific to the primer situation, while reps from Remington and Winchester were willing to field questions and patiently estimate a timeframe for production upticks and market service, CCI refused to discuss the matter in any way.
OK--I'm no Daddy Warbucks .gov military buyer, nor am I a big jobber/wholesaler that handles zillions of primers/bullets/cartridges or other allied products. I'm just a hobbyist who has FAITHFULLY spent a significant percentage of his disposable income on products from the consortium that owns CCI, and I consider such treament of their customer base to be arrogant and insulting. CCI (and the other suppliers) are doing a CRUMMY job of serving the needs of the shooting public, and until I hear a substantive explanation to the contrary for this continuing problem--I will consider those manufacturers to be a substantive part of the problem. Yes, I was PISSED at the way my fellow board member was treated by those arrogant wonks, and I am really tired of getting The Glock Method Marketing Schpiel every time a supply or QC question gets posed to that lot.

Not planning on it; next 22 I buy will prolly be an AR upper now that quality has improved and the mags are getting realistic in capacity and price.

I was lucky enough to score 3 boxes of Fed. 22's yesterday. Think I have about 6K stashed up. We know that ain't that much when a afternoon with 2 9 year olds and2 adults can go through about 750 rounds easily. Or at least that's what we be averaging on a good day.

I'm with you on that. The old story is the ammo/component companies are afraid to invest in more production capability unless they are sure the demand will justify it. In the absence of a crystal ball, I would say that 14 months of demand exceeding supply should be telling them to get with the program OR somebody else is going to step up to the plate; Wolf primers showing up more and more comes to mind. Oh, well.

I've been checking as many Wal-Marts as possible in NH and MAssachusetts for .380 and .32. None of them have had any since this past spring. This coming weekend I'm going to hit a few place that charge an arm and a leg just to have something in my safe in these calibers.
