Here's a trick I learned from one of you guys.

Spray a couple seconds worth of HOS into a plastic bag, dump brass in immediately, and jumble it around for 10 seconds or so. Pour it out and load away.

The lube ends up on the outside of the brass, and the press runs smoother.

Another trick...get an RCBS lube die and just run the brass through the press...

My preferred 650 setup...
Lubed and decapped in station 1
Resized in station 2
Trim in station 4 with the Dillon trimmer

Dump Akro bin of processed brass into the tumbler, chamfer inside and your done.

I like that trick and I am going to try it next time I load.

I have been dumping cases into a cardboard box, spraying with One Shot and shaking.

Currently I load up 4 case trays (the blue ones from Frankfort Arsenal) with shells TURNED UPSIDE DOWN (ie: old primers facing up). When I'm ready to load a tray I simply hold the HOS at a 45 degree angle and spray the brass on each side with a quick shot of the lube. Doesn't leave too much and they size like butta'!

Me, I just put a little Hornady Unique case lube on my finger tips and handling the cases gives me all the lube I need. Of course you may need tp purchase another $4 tub after you do say...umm...maybe 50,000 or so pistol cases

Hey Koski...I tried your bag method...somehow I messed up because some of the HOS got inside the cases and the I could see the powder stick to the sides. Was hellacious when I grabbed a charged case to measure the charge because not all the powder came out! How do you keep the lube from getting INSIDE the cases?

Did you spray the HOS in there before adding the brass?

Some lube is bound to get on the inside of the cases, ruining case tension. All you need is a smidgeon to rest on the lips of the case mouth. The expander will drag it down into the case. Bad, bad idea.

I have had lube get into the case before. I've never had it clump up like that though.

Well, I tried...maybe I used too much HOS. I like just placing them in the trays upside down and hitting them....helps me keep an accurate count of how many rounds I'm cranking out.

I cover the bottom of a big cardboard box with one layer of brass. I flatten out about 95% of it onto their sides. I leave a few standing proud. A little bit of One Shot inside a few cases is a plus for me. It give a bit of lube to the powder funnel, which bells the case (the powder funnel should be clean and polished, itself).

I probably don't use as much One Shot as many seem to. I don't use nearly as much as one would use when spraying Pam in a skillet, for example. I just give a quick pass or two over the brass. Then, I roll the brass around inside the cardboard box a bit.

I use a Lee 4 die set, which includes the Factory Crimp die (FCD). Never any issues with bullet setback with my loads.
