Man Brett, dat JM is sweet an I hafta really ignore dat 325.
I a go nuts wit either one a them.
Plus, lookin at all a these confuse me again if I want a 4" or a 6" GP in blue or stainless
I'm still tryin ta get off a da 610 jones Freak gave me an da .41 Mag thang. I'm losin on both fronts.
Tulsa only a week away, I know I'm too weak ta go thru da whole thang without fallin off da wagon an pickin up somethin.
I cain't afford anythang new, but I a damn sure look at some used ones

I'm also pretty much setup to run some hybrid cast/swaged 155gr SWC-HP, 175gr TC-HP, and 225gr SWC-HP for the 10mm AND 41 Magnum. I need some 41 Mag guys to test them out and see what's up. Buy one at Tulsa. I read a while back you got some .41 Mag goodies so I'll send you some 225gr SWC-HPs anyways.
'Slick, stay away from swaging. It's worse than an Encore addiction. I got a set of 41cal CH4D dies, a set of 10mm CH4D dies coming, and am rebuilding a Lachmiller 9mm die. This is all within a week!

If it worse than da TC stuff, I a hafta avoid dat like da plague.
I got off inta dat TC stuff real bad a few years back an almost ended up in a cave, jus me an da press. I wuz OK wit it, to a point, but I was loadin 6 night a week an shootin 4 days a week. Not a bad way ta go, but it was gettin in da way a other stuff a lil bit.
Now I cut dat down ta loading/prep/cleanin 5-6 days a week an shootin as I get a chance, maybe jus 3 days a week when I'm home.
If I wuz ta get inta wilcattin stuff again an swagin I wouldn't ever leave da house an dat a be bad on most a da family, somebody a hafta go cause I a need they room ;)

Plus, lookin at all a these confuse me again if I want a 4" or a 6" GP in blue or stainless Silly rabbit, you gots to get blue and SS 4s and 6s in Security Sixes and GPs. Want to really style, then you got to go all Speed and Service Six on dey asses...Might as well go all 2.75 an' 3" too. What else you gonna spend it on, hoochies and booze?

If it worse than da TC stuff, I a hafta avoid dat like da plague.
The one thing that's nice about it is no fumes, no heat. Just mechanics. If you can adjust reloading dies, you can adjust a swaging die. You can get started with the $130 CH4D dies and use a RC press. I'll be offering jacketed .41 Magnum bullets too, light weights and heavy weights.
To adjust weight, vary the length of the core and jacket. I can swage a 250gr 10mm bullet. Done it a few times. Looks bad ass. Run that sucker in a 610 loaded to cylinder. Take a 9mm case, seat a 185gr 358cal bullet for the core. Then swage it. Comes out at about 245gr.
You can swage lead alloy or make jacketed bullets. The lead alloy has to be softer but I've gotten away with swaging 12BHN with these dies. If there's a trace of arsenic in your alloy, you can heat treat them to make them harder, but keep them softer for swaging.
The addicting part is the variety of bullets you can make with a set of dies. "Hey, I can do this or I can make this" happens more than once a day. I'll get an idea while I'm driving down the road and write it down.

I'll prolly be burried with this gun. Aint nobody alive, I'll listen to, bad mouth a GP100. Don't care for your hi-caps, wonder 9's, sub-compacts, hawg legs, mouse gun or penis extender. There ain't nothing out there that has the load lattitude and man-stopping reputation of a good ole .357 magnum. It' ain't old school, it's just the real deal. You ain't got to be an expert shot to blow the ass off whatever you're shooting and the mere sight of it ends aggression. A slicked .357 from alot of good use (and training the women and kids to shoot) is as american as it gets.

Amen, Brother. I have more 4" and 6" revolvers in .357 than any other category of handgun! "Mild to wild", jes' like you said, it can do it all!
(Although my G34 with 124-gr +P Gold Dots is right in the realm of .357 Magnum power. Them things are doin' around 1350-fps but it still isn't as confidence inspiring as a 686 or Highway Patrolman or your GP)

That gun is a huge mystery to us. It was purchased from my grandmother not long before she passed away. She needed some money and offered it up to my father. We have little knowledge about where it came from or who owned it previously. We do know that it dates from the 40's or so. The gun still works and is quite accurate. I chose it for the first set of photos I did with Oleg because he wanted something that looked "common".
http://www.olegvolk.net/gallery/d/20252-5/pet4881.jpg
I figured wheel guns were common, not knowing that this was a Victory model. The gun itself has brought about much curiousity online.
Here's my dad with it at the shoot last April in MS:

My pistols have been getting most of the shooting time lately.
But a little over a month ago I was out in the desert with some shooting buddies and I nailed a small propane canister at around a 100 yards with my 6 1/2" M 629 while everybody else was banging away with AK's and an AR. That got a good reaction so I've been practicing with my 44's a little more.

This is a crappy pic of a beautiful gun. S&W 28-2 pinned and recessed, bought it for a song, sold it for 2 songs. I made out like a bandit on it, but I was kicking myself for selling it within minutes of shipping it. I doubt I will ever own a more accurate revolver, and I doubt a deal like it will come along again. It is the first gun I ever sold, and it may be the last.

It says, Made in the 200th year of American Liberty:)
When I bought it, I gave it to a friend who is a gunsmith, to polish it, put new sights on it, and give it a trigger shop.
It just shoots like heaven :)
From the bench, I can hit the steel target 1 by 1.5 foot at one hundred yards 8 out of 10 times (far top right in the pic) :)

Hi Randy,
What type of pocket holster is that?
Thanks,
Alan
Alan
I build custom holsters. That holster is built from 6/7 oz. cowhide rough side out, 277 weight thread and molded on one side to aid in retention and to help lesson printing on the outside. The holster pictured is my personal holster. Heres a photo of one I made for another guy.
Thanks Randy

Think you can make a Chest/Shoulder holster for a BIG GUY, for a S&W mod 29, 8-3/8 brl... or a cross draw. I didnt know we had a leather man here.

Sorry Big Gun. I would actually need a Mod. 29 with the 8 3/8 barrel to build a holster around it. Thanks for asking!

Alan,
Good eye! Yes I'm a southpaw and carry the black one strongside pocket. The natural holster pictured is also a left handed holster for right handed carry in a weakside pocket. I charge $27.00 shipped for natural color and $32.00 shipped for black or dark brown. I don't want to turn this thread into "Randy's Holster Thread" so please PM me if you have any other holster questions or wish to order one
Thanks Again!

We can't be uber tactical all of the time! Picked this one up last night. I have waxed it already, but other than knocking the shine off of the grips, I don't have any plans for it other than shooting.
I have a half a pound of Unique, (Hercules Unique), and plenty of 255 grain SWCs. I can think of no more appopriate a combination for this .45!
I would rather shoot a well made Italian clone than a real Colt.

I haven't shot the 29 yet but I'm thinkin that grip will be a knuckle buster based on shooting my SRH. The Hogue Tamer grip made the Redhawk much better so I'll probably put it back on and just shoot the boomers through the Ruger.
I just ordered 185gr DBBWC wadcutters to load target rounds for the 29. No specific load data available loading them in .44 mag brass so I figure I'll start out with 4gr of Titegroup. It should be a pussycat load in that heavy gun and hopefully as accurate as the .38 and .357 wadcutters I like to shoot. It will be gentle on both me and the gun.
I hate shooting the P3AT. I carry it everyday but I just shoot it often enough to feel confident it will go boom when I pull the trigger. I know I should practice more with it but I don't get to the range that often and it's just not fun like my other guns.

Thanks, Nitesite. I decided recently that I should at least take some pictures of the guns so I remember what I've had... I have sold, traded or bartered so many guns the past couple years it's just crazy. In fact I just sold the Alaskan and the "stock" Montado and Vaquerito so I could get an old model Ruger Flat Top made the year I was born (and a 44 Special Ruger new model Flat Top with the Bisley gripframe). Haven't even taken delivery of them yet...

I never noticed that some of the New Model Flat Tops had an interesting departure from the traditional "straight" trigger. Wow!
More nice guns you're sporting there, dougader!

These two fantastic pieces happen to be my ENTIRE wheel gun collection. Yeah, I know how pitiful that is.
The top is a Colt Police Positive .38 Special. I ran the serial number some years ago, and it is a first year production gun made in 1920-ish.
The second, which is worthless, gets to stay in the house because of the story behind it. Back around 1983 my father purchased a house built in the early twenties which he rented out. Years later, when the house was empty and being re-roofed, an arsonist set fire to it. The fire department got on scene fast enough to save it with the exception of the rear of the house where the fire had been set. While tearing out the damaged area we came across a boarded up window. Somebody did a fantastic job enclosing this window. There was no evidence this window had ever existed from inside or outside the house. Inside the former window sat this old revolver. The pistol was made before serial numbers were required nor does it have a brand name on it. I would love to know why somebody stashed it in a wall like they did.
