THANKS, Spinnerblade!!!

They're just sexy as all get out, they are.

I helped my former boss search for and finally purchase three Hi-Power pistols during a two-year period. With the arrival of each one I found myself wishing that I owned one. What a great pistol!

Your guns look fantastic, and your photography is outstanding. :)

Stephen A. Camp doesn't have anything on you, man!

You are just learning about that "fixed income" stuff. You'll understand soon.

Had my druthers, an HP would be way down the list after a Playboy model, a beer factory, and the HGTV dream house.

BTW: I've had 2 of 'em. Like 'em.

If you're a shooter and have never owned or fired a BHP, you'll never understand just how good shooting can be.

BHP is a must have at some point in life.

Lotta copies out there from various FN licensee's.

Arcus makes one that is hit or miss on quality, but if ya get a good one, they're real nice. I say hit or miss because I've been told some had slide cracking issues. I've seen several that are excellent in every respect after many thousands of rounds.

Nothing compared to the ones Spinner posted above, the genuine FN's are just pure classy in my mind.

But, for a surplus price, if ya are careful, you can have a real nice shooter on the cheap. Parts and mags interchange, as do accessories.

Military Gun Supply in Ft. Worth had em on sale for $239 a couple years ago, they went fast.

I got lucky with all mine.

The first one was the black Browning I bought used for $429 plus taxes and fees.
The next one was the black FN CDNN was selling for $399.

After that, I sold an AK at a gun shop and before I walked out I took a look in the used gun cabinet and saw a blue Belgium '69 Hi-Power for $350 that was in very good shape. They took the payment out of the check for the rifle and made another check for the balance.
I shot it some but didn't like the small sights and safety.

So... not long after in the same used gun cabinet someone had the chrome Browning for sale. It was going for $650. I put some money down, went home and got the '69 and put it up for sale and paid the balance on the chrome one.It was practically new.:)
The '69 sold quickly for $650.

Now I'm thinking of getting a 40, just a matter of time.I keep looking for a two tone one, I think its called the Practical model.

One thing I really like about these pistols is there reliability and build quality. I've had a Colt Gold Cup and now my Colt Commander break small parts and otherwise need some help. The FN gets shot almost every time I go shooting and I've shot around 4000 rounds through it the last year or two with no problems.
I'm thinking the FN company makes these pistols to military specs and isn't taking shortcuts. In fact the only bobbles these pistols have had is when I tried using a bad KRD magazine.Patrick

I love me some Hi-Power in a bad way. Still holding out for a WWII nazi HP.

I have one, but I got the lemon. Probably built on a Monday after a Friday long weekend. It is a surplus plain jane from about an '82 mfg date. The front sight departed while shooting, recoil spring guide broke and the trigger pin hole in the frame isn't quite round, and the trigger pin walks out all the time. After repairs it still shoots like a house on fire, and has the most comfortable grip of any handgun I own.

I came a 'gun cleaning session' away from owning one.

A co-worker has a family 'hand me down' that would FTF, Stovepipe and quite often not lock up. He stated it's been that way since he can remember. He actually hated it. He was really close to destroying it as he would not feel right selling it to a friend.

My stupid response was "well, have you cleaned it lately"? :cryin:

We downloaded some teardown instructions, had a cleaning session and now she functions like new.

He's forever grateful that I/we saved his Uncles(I think) Browning and well me, . . . . . . I'm more than welcome to shoot it anytime we're at the range.

Yes, it is one smooth shooter. Being raised by semi-auto's, I didn't know they already had great guns before my time. Those revolver guys sure must have been stubborn back then.

I resemble that remark :) ... still I been thinkin lately that maybe I'd trade my mint, unfired, in the box , 27-2 for an equivalent value Browning (still be carrying my M49 Bodyguard though :)

I wonder if Charly could get us a group discount from Belgium?! I heard he recently "stole" a real nice car before they realized they'd been duped...maybe he could do the same for us with the foriegn gun crowd! ;-)

If we're getting Belguim discounts I've got my eyes on a SCAR Heavy!!

SB, looks like you have a HiPower for each hand and one for a friend.

Import fees, shipping to the US and dealer transfer would eat up any tangible savings, but I hear ya, it would be hella nice ta get one from Charly, from FN unmolested.
