I been wanting some a these so long they quit makin em :

a GP100 (old school with da nice grip)

Browning Buck Mark

shooter grade 9x19 beater

a HK VP70

a .38 Stupid commander (for a donor gun to end up with a 9x19)

CZ 75

870 with some nice wood

Stryker

Ruger No 1

Winchester Model 62

Ruger SR9 in a compact just ta fart around with

nice Ruger from the Six family

Savage 99 in 250-3000

Model 19 in a 5 inch barrel

3½" 12 gauge Benelli M2 wit a ~18-20" barrel

XP100R in 22-250 or .243

Lil lightweight needle gun wit nice optics

1050

another 1050

03A3

A few others... like maybe 30-40.

Rough estimate for the above is in da 15k range total so money is a big part of it.

What have you been putting off buying for years now ? Why you been putting it off other than money ? What are you waiting on before finally getting some of what's on your list ?

I had some of these over the years and traded em or sold em off to pay bills, got bored with em at the time etc.. Now I wish I still had every one I sold, plus da others above, and then some.

Lets see, I need some compliance parts to finish a few ak's. Started building an ar two years ago and have the lower done, 20 pmags and that is about it. Really have no desire to put money in to finish it, but dont want to sell it.
Ruger Vaquero in 45 lc
Lever in either 30-30 or 45-70

Some guns on my list of "might/could/would buy"... ignoring things that I could never afford. My "win the lottery" list would be different.

- Robinson XCR in .223 (unlikely I'll be spending $1600 on a rilfle any time soon)

- Walther P5 9mm. If i find a killer deal on one in GOOD condition, I'll buy it. So far, every one I've come across was over-priced or abused in unspeakable ways.

- RIA 1911. I know it's lower end, but I don't want a $900-1200 1911. I just want a basic reliable Commander style to play with at the range, not an heirloom. Might be my next purchase.

- Agreeing with Warhorse, the newer Savage 10FPs with the Accutrigger/stock are appealing to me. In .308 pls. (also unlikely anytime soon, as I'd need nice glass too). No idea where I'd actually shoot it.

- I'd like a .357. Probably a Ruger Security Six w/4" barrel, possibly a S&W.

- A *smaller* .44 magnum, 4-5" barrel. The one I have is just too heavy & long.

- A 10/22 to replace the one I sold.

- A 12ga shotgun, probably a Rem 870. My 1100 20ga is nice, but not my preference for HD.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

The biggest gun related purchase I've been putting off is a nice high dollar scope. I always end up at the gunshop looking to come home with a nice scope and end up leaving with a gun instead. "My old Bushnell Banner will get me through another season", I always think to myself.

I don't get into having two guns that do the same thing, so right now all I really need is a small caliber low recoil vermin splatterer. It will be something along the lines of a .17 Fireball or .20 VarTarg Turbo. I would like a .20 Tactical AR, but the price of the whole system is outta my range. Got a 12ga, .30-06, .30-30, .22LR, .38 snubbie and a .45, bout all I really ever "need" to me. If I hit the lotto I'd have a warehouse fulla stuff, but that ain't gonna happen so I try to be practical.

I guess if I really think about it, I do also need a .22 semi auto pistol and a .357 or .44 revolver.

I keep looking at the best first-focal-plane scopes, but can't seem to bring myself to feel responsible about spending that kind of cash on one.

I've been buying land instead.

At least I wouldn't have to pay yearly property tax on a scope.

I'm not putting anything off but money is my primary issue. My list to buy and in order of preference to buy includes:

Pair of SS Ruger Vaqueros (Bisley?) with 5" barrels in .44 mag. will consider .45LC. if a .45LC 1894 Marlin is available
Bond derringer Cowboy Defender in .38spc
Ruger Single Six

Black Rifle, unsure of details, and this is at the bottom of my current list.

I would be interested if money was available in buying a custom 1911 and of course NFA too.

I'm hoping to get an 'ole school revolver next. .357 flavor. I've never owned a wheel gun.

I keep putting off changing my G19 CC to the G32. I shoot the SIG round in my G22 fotay and it is a hoot. And the wife really wants me G19.

Everybody else must have their Garand already. I'd like to have one to relish America's past.

I don't own a 45ACP pistol yet either. Thorn, let's go get a couple of those Rock Islands.

Owning a Clint Eastwood model 29 would be great, but that's waaayyy out there.

Luckily, I like guns for their functionality, not looks. If I own them, they get shot . . . . so far.

I keep putting off buying pretty much all of them.

My other habits keep getting in the way. Mortgage, taxes, food,..........

Growing up, the only handguns we had were revolvers... my Dad never had a semiauto. I don't know if it's because he didn't like them, or just had never gotten one. Once i started buying my own guns, a revolver seemed quaint at best. Never thought I'd find myself wanting another one. I guess the older we get, the more we appreciate different things.

I don't own a 45ACP pistol yet either. Thorn, let's go get a couple of those Rock Islands.I may be headed to Goodman's show this Saturday in Sharonville; there's usually at least one dealer that sells them new. Hoping it's back in the sub-$400 range. You should come on down. :)

Ever since I bought my Swede 96, I've thought about a sporter in 6.5x55.

In a moment of stupidity, I sold the Browning BL22 I bought as a teenager. Now I want it back (or one like it).

I can't explain why, but I keep coming back to wanting something in 45-70. Prob'ly a Marlin XLR, or a long barreled Highwall.

A G35 is on my short list.

Flintlock rifle.

Cap and ball revolver.

Glocks. I don't own any, but I really want one in 10mm. I have been on a revolver kick the last few years and I don't have much in the way of discretionary funds. I have a few toys on my list to purchase shortly after graduation in May. More than likely a Glock will make the list.

A Smiff & Western steel J-frame (mod 49 in particular). Haven't been so much putting it off, as can't find one up here. They are classified as prohibited, so there are only a few of us that can own them. No more can come into the country, what's here is here. Just missed out on one a few weeks ago for $300. I'm a little sore about that one.

If I had the money, or if I get anything back this tax year, which won't happen since I been a "contract" employee most of last year, I'd get....

* A Ruger SR-556 just cuz I like 'em.

* A Kimber Desert Warrior or Springy 1911.

*A Springy 45 XD Compact

* A Taurus Tracker in 44 magnum.

* A base mount plate for my RCBS Mini-grand shot shell loader I got last year. Still ain't set that puppy up yet cuz I need the mount!! I could probably build one, which I may have to soon.

There are only two that I really want. Sig P210 and a Shiloh Sharps.

I have been thinking about selling some things to finance one of them.

I just filled one niche last month--the Glock 23. Another one was filled in October, with the FN Mauser in 30-06. These came about via trade or great pricing, so my good karma might be running low now.

I do keep putting off the SIG P-220 in 45 ACP. The G-23 acquisition made the P-220 acquisition less critical, but I still want one anyway.

A fundamental re-structuring of the CCW regs for retired members of my agency (thanks to the HR 218 ca-ca) rendered my usual carry autos unusable--the CZ-75 x 40 was de-qualled outright, and I won't carry that (expletives deleted) sub-sonic crap ammo in my P-226. If I shoot some mo-fo, I wants them to stay shot--not continue or increase they crap that gots them shot at in the first place. No, sir.

The P-220 Project will stay on the back burner for a while. The Grock will do fine, 3.5# connector and all. I like it, and will like it even more after my full-cap magazines arrive.

The only other thing on the horizon would be a 2" Model 10/64 or 3" Model 13/65.

A Les Baer, Ed Brown, Wilson, or other semi-custom 1911.

Stopped by a gunshop that I haven't been to in a while, last week, and they now carry Ed Brown pistols. The sales guy was nice an' let me fondle a Special Forces Carry bobtail model. After handling it for a few minutes, I asked if I could put some money down and pick it up later. He said they couldn't do that but he could hold it for me till closing. They closed at 6:00 and it was almost 5:00 I said ok and hurried home.

When I got home I checked a few things on the PC and saw they were asking full retail.

Went over to the 1911 forums and looked around on the Ed Brown forum.
Seems like customer service wasn't really good. If I'm going to pay that much for a pistol I'm expecting Excellent service, especially when a company is claiming how great their pistols are.

I also saw there were some dealers that could have EB pistols at less than full retail.
So now I'm doing alot of researching and hopefully it won't be too much longer till I get a really cool 1911.Patrick

I have one. I think it's a good gun for the price. Mine is accurate and trouble free.

I don't have any special purpose for the gun but I have a craving for a lever action Marlin in 357 Mag. Having a hard time finding one.

I have to give a BIG +1 on the SR-556. I keep putting that off due mostly to the purchase price but also due to the fact I couldn't afford to feed it ammo!
that and a Ruger SR9 of some form. I almost bought one but then got on a big Glock kick so can't justify one after buying a new G17.

Also, I owned a Kimber Gold Combat. By far and away the finest firearm I have ever owned and wish I still had. If you get a chance to own a kimber, even the cheapest one they make, they are worth every penny.

A CZ-85 Combat.

A Swarovski scope.

A lever rifle with ballard cut rifling in .35 Remington that has ghost-ring or aperture sights.

A S&W Model 18 4" .22LR revolver like the one I let get away.

And a replacement for the stainless Security Six that I gave to a very good friend.

Oh, man........just got off the phone with a shooting friend in NV. He has found a Police Positive x 4" in 32 New Police (S&W Long) for a decent price. Small wonder the P-220 idea keeps getting shuffled off to Buffalo.

nitesite, I just picked up a 4" model 18 at our Easter gunshow for $345. It is a four screw model, born in 1959. A lot of wear to the finish, but mechanically sound. Still waiting on the gubmint to "approve" the sale. Hopefully get it by the end of the month.
