I had a day off today, with real nice sunny weather around 70-degrees by noon. First nice day that I've had off since.... October? I slept in, then I took the dogs for a ride to the supermarket to buy some steaks and baking potatoes.
The car windows were down which the dogs LOVED, and all was good in the world. Got back home, and started smelting some WWs. Vacuumed the house while things heated up. Got the smelt and flux all done and transferred the lead to my Lee 4-20. Mopped floors and loaded the dishwasher while the 4-20 got ready to go.
Then I started the hardwood fire that would sear the steaks. I cast about 600 DEWCs and LSWCs and when the fire was "perfect", on went the steaks and I wrapped up the casting session.
Four minutes per side, one inch away from the coals. Perfect Medium-Rare 1" steaks.
I am fed, happy, rested, and glad that life can bring me happiness through such really simple and mundane events.
