I was reading a little over on 68forums where a guy mentioned ejector swipes as an over-pressure sign. Pretty sure he was talking about an AR-15. Anyway, I'm not sure what that looks like and I was hoping one of you fine folks could 'splain it to me. Mayhaps even a pic?

It must be over cycling , kicking the bolt back fast enough to have the ejector leave a mark or nick on the case head . All those non-adjustable gas port guns
go snaky with the wrong burn rate , hot load powders . :gnorsi:

Desert Eagle produces a ejector mark with every pull of the trigger. Of course, it's gas, so like Gloooock says, could be just a gas thing, no idea, never seen it on anything else that wasn't loaded way too hot.

It shouldn't gouge or over mark the case. If you get a smear on the case had to go with it, you are in hogh pressure area & need to back down. Moreeasily seen on bolt guns, but does exist on semiautos too.

I have heard the term as well referring to pressure signs in an AR. In talking to AR users that use this term I believe this is what they are referring to.
