View Full Version : Gun show today.

The annual good Friday gun show goes today. It is the big shooting "social event" of the year up here. It seems every year it gets more and more disappointing as far as what's for sale, but it is still good to see a lot of people you haven't seen since the last one.

The only things on my list are a S&W model 49 (have never seen one at past shows, so I am not hopeful), Hornady 52gr .22cal A-Max bullets (not too hopeful here either, as the whole country seems to be out of ANYTHING Hornady), and some Varget (same story here).

Oh well, ya gots ta go just in case. I'm outta here in 15!

Yeah, good hunting at the show. How much foofahrah does a Canadian have to go through to get a snubbie revolver?

CZ, no more than any other handgun.....IF you happen to have a prohibited class on your license (I do :grin:). Didn't find anything on my list, but I did pick up an old S&W 4" model 18. AND it's a four screw! Got it for $345. It was carried much and shot little. It was an old trapper's gun. Finish is a bit beat up (it will match most of my other guns) but it locks up tighter 'n a bull's arse at fly time. Bore is very good too. The guy said he popped a couple of lynx with it while running his trap line. Didn't notice it was a four screw until after the deal was done.

Now the waiting game. He has 3 more shows to go to in the next week, so he probably won't be able to initiate the transfer with the gubmint until next Friday, then about another four or five days after that, then wait for Canada Post. Sigh

......oh ya, there were at least 500 tables there this year. 450 of them were not worth the time looking at. A lot of people real proud of their stuff. Retail plus 10% on a lot of beat up junk. There were a few neat things like a semi only FG42 repro and a couple of Johnson rifles.
