The Mateba Autorevolver (also Mateba Model 6 Unica) is one of the few types of hybrid automatic revolver (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_revolver) handguns developed by the Italian gunsmith Sergio Mateba. The revolver is not automatic in the traditional sense of firing as long as the trigger is depressed, but called "automatic", because it uses the energy of a fired shot to rotate the cylinder and cock the hammer for the next shot technically making it a "semi-automatic".
The Mateba Autorevolver's barrel alignment is different from most other revolvers. The barrel is aligned with the bottom of the cylinder instead of the top. This lowers the bore sight (line of the barrel) which directs the recoil in line with the shooter's hand thereby reducing the twisting motion or "muzzle flip" of normal revolvers.

I think it's a silly weapon that screams "I'm an attention whore!" That gun does nothing that a colt python won't do better and I don't think a local gun smith would touch it.
It's cool as heck and I'd love to have one.

Looks alot like Deckard's gun in Blade Runner...

The original prop didn't use the Mateba as a base, but somehow i see a resemblance.

I read about those before. Seems like it would be a fun gun.

Bet you can get parts for that everywhere, seeing as they went out of business years ago. I would take a slicked up regular .357 any day of the week and twice on Sunday instead of something so obscure as that. Just get a G31 or a G34/35 and a conversion barrel if it's that big a deal to have a semi-auto .357 and you can double your payload at the same time.

I'd one of them AND a Webly! Even just ta' hang above me reloadin' bench and drool over while I'm loadin' stuff up. Wonder what it would take to make it full auto!......for 6 shots.

A pissed off bear at close quarters would cause my bolt rifles to sound like they're belt-fed.

A side benefit of using a potato is that it will pre-expand your hollow point, so that the bullet will strike with a larger frontal area, something that will truly devastate your opponent.
