Man, do I still love my old Browning A-5! Got the original skeet barrel (without ventilated rib...a rarity) as well as a 22" Invector barrel. Also have a couple of SKBs, one equipped with a PolyChoke. Still got a pristine Mod 1100 20ga Special Field, but never use it.

If I hear that my home might be invaded by droves of doves or coveys of quail, I'll know which shotty to pick for the job, due to years of experience.

I've got a Rem 1100 with a 20" rifle sight tube. It'll put slugs on a IDPA target all day long at 100 yards. The only shotgun I've ever owned.

I shoot it every few months at 3 gun matches. I'm pondering a SL900... (not really)

My main dove gun is a Moss 500 with the camo finish (you don't want to lay it down in the weeds and walk off) ported barrel, fiber optic front sight, Pretty good shotgun. I also have a old Moss 500 that I've had for about 20 years, it's got the short barrel and has a place of honor next to my bed.....Need to get the Dillon set up first for .45acp then wanna look into shotshell reloading..

I'm either going to have to start shooting as a leftie or give up dove hunting or get a red dot sight of some kind for my old Browning. I'm severely left-eye dominant, so I wind up looking down the side of the barrel at an angle. If I close the left eye, I can't see well enough with the right to shoot.

I have my grandfather's old Remington 870 Wingmaster. Wish it could accept 3" shells in case I ever get to go duck hunting, but I'm not going to complain since it was free :D

Me too, Walter...finally figured it out one year I was ankle deep in fired hulls and 1 bird on the ground. The "fix" for me was 100%, quick & easy...added the smaller center bead. If you see 2-beads, wrong eye is doin' the seein'...

I have two 12-ga loaders, a MEC-650 and a Sizemaster, both set up for 12-ga.

Most of my reloading is trap and field low-brass shells that closely mimic Remington STS Premier and Nitro 27s. Use only hard magnum shot, for no other reason than I want to.

The majority of the ammo I reload get fed thru a 28" Browning Gold Fusion.

Hmm, I need to go dig through the garage and see if we still have my dad's old hand loading shotgun equipment.

Shotgun(s), Yep, got a few and like all of em. Remington 870's set up for hunting and tactical needs. 1100 Special Field for bird hunting and a Mossberg 500 and 590 for training and duty carry too. All of em's a 12 ga and everyone of em get used a lot. Have owned other more expensive shotguns in the past, but am content with the ones I have for now.

I got a '57 Belgium A-5 that was my great uncles. It had less than a box of shells through it. It is in 95-100% condition. I love it, but it is just too nice a gun to take hunting. I take it to the trap range every now and then.

For just everyday shooting, my 870 Express is great. Cheap, dont care if it gets dinged, great shooter.

I used to load 20 ga with my dad, but haven't in years. I have attempted to mount the Mec Grabber a couple of times, but each time it has gotten replaced with a sizer.

BTW, my favorite skeet gun is my 20 ga citori with skeet over skeet barrels. I've shot fancier, but I've never worried about dinging this one up, and when loaded with 8 or 9 shot it has almost no misses in the barrel.

Even the cheap value packs are now 21 bucks for 100 at Wally World. Clays have tripled in price in the last few years too. Luckily, people suck at hitting moving targets and I just pick up a few hundred in the field. CRB!

Clay targets went up drastically after Hurricane Katrina. A by-product of petroleum distilling is the thick black pitch which is used in clay targets. While many of the Gulf Coast refineries were down, the supply of pitch was affected. Now that we've got all the refineries up and running the price of crude in today's oil market means that even the by-products from oil refining has a higher cost.

Today I checked the price of Remington STS Target and Nitro-27 and other premium brands. Can't buy a box for less than $7.74 now. About a 50% increase from 2-3 years ago. I'm actually surprised that as lead prices have soared the cost of shotgun ammo hasn't doubled.

I love my Remington 11-87 and have had it since I was twelve. Of course I drool over nice OUs like everybody else, but the ole Remmy gets the job done on clays or vermin.

And that's with no markup on it (well, rounded to the nearest dollar).

I doubt the price will drop significantly. I wish. $1/lb ain't bad. I could go for that.

It might be more expensive (by a few cents) loading my own, but I get enjoyment out of it. Gives me a little break from metallic loading. Next I'm going to cast my own slugs and load them up.

On the left lens of you shooting glases, place a 3/8" square of "transparent" tape, so that in a mounted position it blocks the view of the front bead to your left eye. This will force your right eye to pick up the bead, yet not effect your ability to pick up game with your left eye.
I do all my shotgun work with a Browning GTI (one of the early Citori Sporting clays models). As the wife and I were going through 18 boxes of 12ga per week, reloading was a "must do" activity (she loaded most of our shells).

I appreciate the advice; however, the my probably is more complicated than just left-eye dominance. My vision isn't clear enough in my damaged right eye for me to see well enough to shoot, using the right eye as dominant, regardless of methodology.

I know what you mean. I'm going to practice shooting handguns left handed also. It sucks being right handed and not able to see good enough out of your right eye to sight with it.

I have the same affliction (gift?) and am cross dominant. I shoot rifle and SG left handed and pistol right handed. I just drop my trailing foot back a tad more and rotate my left eye behind the sights.

I found this MUCH easier than attempting to learn to manipulate a pistol left handed.
