I have eaten snake several times and different species mostly the poisonous type.
I've also eating live baby eels droped into a glass of warm saki and chugged down. It's hard to explain feeling those little bastards give as they wiggle down. Always imagined it would be like getting a finger wave by an epiletic seizure prone gay French physician with turrets. Hence the saki will get you seriously F'd up and dull your senses.
However I'm not partial to eating them or something that smells like an out house.. When I'm out in the feild I tend to smell thier proximity before I see or in the case of a singing worm hear them.
Peace

At home we jus fry em up like fish.
Ate a bunch of it in Yamanashi prefecture a few years ago. They serve dat stuff all kinda way, mostly raw, then deep fry da bones till they is crunchy. I tried it, but I like da whole thang fried.
Never understood dat.
No wonder they womens like American men
When I'm finished with them there is nothing left to cook
