I just got an e-mail offering me a 'lightly used' G22 Gen 4 with the fish tail cuts on the slide.

I don't necessarily need another G22, but the price seems pretty good.

'Lightly used' evidently means it was a demo gun. Supposed to have been trotted around by some kinda sales rep to a few LE to show all the cool new features. No idea how much it's been shot.

My old 22 is a beater I got forever ago, and the ramp support is so bad it'll probably pass a bowling ball without any trouble.

I can sell my beater 22 for $350 to one of my buds wh has been wantin it a couple years now.

I see other G22's, the RTF 2 for ~ $459 and some trade ins (all 3rd Gen) for ~ $395, but I know there's a little fat in those. Some of the trade ins got night sights, some not, rest of em plain old low dollar sights.

Worth a look or pass ?

I ran accross a Gen 1 G17 @ a pawn shop the other day, it was the most comfortable Glock grip I had ever felt. Too bad it wasn't in better shape.

Slick, that gen 4 G22 is $100 less than you will find any glock in my neck of the woods new.

If the itch is there and you can reach it.... It's gone hurt your feelings when you put a big scratch on it though.

None of my guns are safe queens and a Glock is born ugly, but, I get ya drift.

I used to try my best to dote over em, then realized the only way to do that is just not shoot em or carry em. A little honest wear doesn't bother me any at all.

What bugs me is when a newbie is shootin one and is careless about handling and it picks up a couple extra nicks as a result.

I know, they're a newb, but, when I first had the chance to learn to shoot, or borrow one from a bud at the range, I am extra careful with it.

My old trunk gun G22 look like it been hit with a weedeater :animlol:

Hardly any phosphate left, but the tennifer is holdin up fine. First big bucket of ww's tumped over on it and I was kinda thinkin about just sellin it, but all da sludge hosed off at da carwash just fine

Had ta clamp it in the floor mat thingy and hit it with the pre-rinse, then the tire cleaner stuff and hose it pretty good a couple times full pressure, but it all come off eventually.

Still goes bang just like when I first got it ;)

Note to self: don't hold da barrel in ya hand an blast it with da wand unless you're facin away from da drain grate in the bottom of the bay.

I have an H&R Sidekick 22lr that I got when I was 12.
Not sure what it is about this pistol but it is the loudest, high pitched crack you will ever hear when you fire it. I swear it'll make your ears bleed.
My cousin came over and wanted to fire it. I warned him it was loud and to put some earplugs in before shooting it. He wouldn't have it and when he shot it he instantly dropped the gun and grabbed both ears in pain.
Needless to say I was pissed that he dropped my gun.

Here is yet another thread I am late to but I just wanted to point out that the Gen 4 guns have never had the fish gills as far as I know. They were only on the RTF 2 guns, until too many people complained and they got ridda them! ( I like the fish gills) A few RTF 2 Glock 23's got the gills and I shall be searching for them sometime in the future.

There was a lot of confusion brought about by the RTF 2 guns and many referred to them as 4th gen when the 4th gen had yet to be introduced.

Oh man I hope my traded into G23 ain't got gills.

They look kinda unique, and I can see why a lotta folks like the aesthetics, but my tap rack bang skills is cast in concrete lookin for straight cuts

I had a newbie drop an AR I used to have after lightin one off with no ears on.

Turned around white as a sheet sayin it just exploded in my hand

No biggie except we were shootin up on the Red River and about ankle deep in sugar sand and chiggers. It was OK, just full of sand that was like powder and the scope caps were off.

Serious PITA to get cleaned up, but finally I got it all out.

Then the snivelin lil fool was talkin about he thinks it broke his ear drums gotta leave now and see a doctor.

I asked him what did you say ? He screamed back to me 'I SAID I think I ruptured my ear drums and gotta go to the emergency room."

I said, da gate to the road is over there and pointed to where we came in at

Yeah, the gills ain't for everyone! I think there are a total of three of us in the US that liked 'em. I did have one with gills and one without at the gun store one day and the gills did seem to offer superior bite in back to back rackings of the slides. But that could have just been my imagination.

I haven't tried one at all, but if they're better, I'll definitely check em out.

One more thing on my list soon as I get home ;)

I like the gills too. Seem to give me a better purchase on that slide.
