what powder are you all using for lead in 9mm? @126 grain bullets and not clays or titegroup. Looking for little smoke using lars red.

WSF works well outta everything
I've loaded a lotta 9mm with it from 105's to 147's in cast an smoke is minimal to none.
Works especially well with 124's IMO.

WSF works well, and Silhouette (WAP).

Dang, I bought Unique for when I cast 9mm cause I heard it was pretty good and Lyman has loads for it in their cast bullet handbook. I got a pound of WSF too though. Guess the fun will be in trying both.

I use HS6 in 45 Auto. Some with 10mm, but I shoot only HS6 in .45.

Solo 1000 smokes very little with my Lead Bullets compared to Tightgroup.

I have been using HS-6 for several years. Seems to work well for me. I mostly load 147's though.

I bee tryin' some Unique for me 124 grain (actually wieghs 129-130 grains)9mm cast boolits. I started with 4.1 grains as a minimum and will try a couple of grains more this weekend, but so far..........it shoots great. I like the smoke though....it makes me feel........................"somehow."

I use Unique, WSF or WST. Accuracy w/ all 3 is exc. under 124grLTC.

Think I'll load some at 4.5 in a bit for tomorrow to check out. My Chrony works okay, about 60% of the time. Not bad for bein' shot with a 40S&W through a carbine though.:subgun:

My Titegroup and Bullseye loads in 147 grain 9mm have NOT been very good.
I really need to find a load that works for these bullets. :(

I'm using Alliant's bulk powder: PROMO. Its just like RedDot and works great in 9mm. Less than 4.0 grains gives my 130TC cast bullet an FPS of 1050. Perfect for target work.

I tried some lead 125's with 5.9gr of HS-6 yesterday. Smokey room, but no mishaps. I was shooting more for safety checks than accuracy, but they were basically on par with my initial rounds of FMJ.

My 9 in lead have always been charged with WSF. Works great.
