I was at a police training day today at the Angeles range(for those who are in SoCal should know about it) . We were shooting at the "eagles nest" range at the top of the mountain. When I got out of the car there was a good two acres of gold shimmer, I thought I died and went to heaven. I had to shoot different relays over five or so hours, and all I could think about was all the damm brass. When the day was over I able to talk my carpool in to staying for 15 minutes. Three of us gathered and I was able to score 3 large freezer bags full 9mm,.40,.45,45gap,.223. There had to be several hundred thousand pieces left to become victim of the weather. Just a quick moment of silence for all left behind.................ok carry on

Yeah no ****. If I had my own car and wasn't on company time I would have still been there. You could pick up brass all day and not even put a dent in that field of brass. I'm not sure what that range does with the brass. It looked like it hasn't been raked in months. That particular range is used mostly by LAPD SWAT and specialized units. I'm going to go back on my day off and see if anyone is shooting on that range, if not i'm gonna go to town. BTW did I mention the shotgun hulls? I saw two 55gal trashcans full of once fired federal 00 buck hulls.

Flashlight? A God fearin' man could feel it on his hands and knees in the dark. Justa clawin' and a scoopin' till his fingers bled. Lawdy...

There's a 55gallon drum filled with brass at the scrapper. I'm going to buy it, sort it, and sell it.

I LOVE Angeles for that very reason. I always leave with at least 5 times the amount of brass I came in with. And it is a great range, love the steel targets on the rifle berms.

Is it good brass?

I take future case head seperations, once fired 9mm Major (doesn't last more than one reload), rimfire, berdan primed to the recycler, would think he'd have much good brass.

Most (90%) is probably OF brass. Looked good mostly. I'd sell it as "fired brass" like I always do.

What does a 55gal of brass weigh? I'm guessing 700lbs?

Dunno. I know a 55gal drum of range scrap lead weighs 978lbs.

Can you post a list of the brass you're giving away?

I can't use any of them, I'm sure Koski would reimburse shipping for any or all.

I'll take whatever 22LR brass you can get.

You need .22s? I scrap all mine.

freakshow10mm

Yup. I make jackets out of them. Got about 10,000 pcs of brass. When I get swaging dies I can make .224 bullets. I got some lead wire on the way.

Tape the bottom together on a FRB. Fill it up. Then send it my way and I'll reimburse shipping.

We have .22 laying all over the ground. Especially the one rifle bay. I guess I'll have to take a rake with me next time.

I did luck out and pick up about 150 .40 caliber cases yesterday. I've got a .40 I don't shoot much so I'll save the brass until I have enough to make it worthwhile.

Yes, any 22LR brass you can get, wait til you get a FRB full and send it my way. I'll reimburse shipping. I'm getting 5 55gal drums and when they are filled, then I'll slow down.
