I though y'all might like this. Last weekend, I was up in Bay Center WA at a welding get together. We always get out the bang-bangs too. I hauled an AR, my new FNP-9 and a G-36 up there this time. The range the guy has access to is set up with long range rifle targets, so we fabbed up a reactive for the pistols in the shop before we went. It is nothing fancy. It was made out of all 1/4" A-36 plate and angle with sch 40 pipe for the centers. We made it to tear up, so we weren't going for durability...however...we were very surprised at how well it held up after the first day. The std pistol rounds did little if anything to it. 9mm, .40 and .45acp barely made a mark in it unless you missed and hit the pipe. The .357 mag and .454 did a number on it....the .454 doing some good damage dishing the plate slightly.

The next day, we hit it with all we had.... 5.56, .308, .204 Ruger and a Bushy 50!!! Even after all that, we strapped Tannerite to it and had a blast.,....literally!:68: The two right side plates took direct hits on the straps with the 50 to Tannerite and twisted them to hell and back. One took a 50 hit to a half pound bottle!!! Big badaboom! Even got 10 and a half turns out of the target, too. After the day was done, the target showed some wear and tear....but still was serviceable. I might even build one like it for myself...just out of heavier stuff.

Thanks, Slick. Yes, we did have a blast. No .32, just the ones I mentioned. The .454 did quite the number, but all the holes were .204, .223 .308 and the fiddy of course.

Here is one of the vids the guys shot. Its one of the guy's wife shooting a Remmy R-25 .308 at a half pound of Tannerite on a stump about 40 yards away.

You need to get yourselves some "Hardox 500" plate. You play hell tearing it up, even a .204 Ruger or a Swift only leaves a small dent ! Ain't never tried it with a Fiddy thou.

We just slapped that one together with what was at hand...fully intending for it to be completely destroyed. Guess we need to try harder next time. It wasn't intended for use after that weekend.
