View Full Version : THE BEST CALL OF THE NIGHT

Every night I get at least one call that really sticks out and is worth telling about. They are the bizarro calls that you remember and swap with other officers, civilians and spouse that make them just amazed.

Tonight I get a call to a parental complaint at the mothers house. I get there and Moma is complaining about Daddy. Momma and Daughter live in the house alone, Daddy lives in a motel across town and wasn't there. The problem is Daddy loves their 18 year old daughter.... too much.

He proposed marriage to his daughter. (I couldn't pass up this opportunity)

I asked daughter.... "You gonna marry him?"

(The look on her face was priceless!)

OK, what did the call you for? Is he violent or are they just worried he might become so? She is over 18, I don't see what the problem is.

I think Memphis PD should change their door stickers to "Protect and Prevent Incest".

Momma was mad cause Daddy came-a-court'n.

Incest is best when you keep it in the family.

I think they may be OK if the Daughter is adopted. Maybe daddy knows momma cheated on him?

Well, daddy claimed to daughter it's okay since they have different last names and just because he's on her birth certificate doesn't mean he's her biological father, he just raised her... So it's okay? right?

Daddy was investigated for child molestation on her when she was 12, and now he wants to marry her? Momma doesn't think anything is going on between them. I think he's been hitt'n it for years and daughter has been keeping the secret.

Most of the time when men propose marriage it's because they ain't getting laid like they used to or the girl is pregnant. Wonder which it is this time.

You cops get to deal with all the "fun" people in society. I'm jealous. Nobody I work with ever says crap like that.

Yeah, but it gets old too.

It sounds like a very humbling experience to know regardless how many problems you think you have, there's always someone with more.

The good people who give you hope don't call the police and tell us inspiring stories of how their dreams are realized and how their child is making responsible decisions and how their family is staying together through thick and thin.

No, we get the drunk crackheads claiming they've been robbed when the crack man sticks them up with a gun for the money the victim owes him (for an unpaid crack cocaine debt) .... and want the police to get their money back.

I try to mix regular folks with my cop buddies. At work I got your back. One days off I'm more likely to hanging with my shooting buddies. This way at least I'm able to see and hear the other side. I'm glad my shooting buddies don't hound me for info on what I'm doing. The shooting buddies let me inform who I want to know what I do for a living. Once in awhile somebody will ask for advice when they find out what I do.

Anvil, I have to say one of the hardest cases I worked where step dad was dong a step daughter after mom went to work was rewarding when I got to haul his azz off. It was hard because step dad pretty much ruined a whole family because he could'nt keep his fly zipped with a 14 year old.

I had a 22-year-old crackhead who was living with a 15-year-old in HER grandma's house, banging her all day, every day, and grandma was OK with it until crackhead stole her jewelry to buy more dope. Then she turned him in. This happens frequently.

Yep, it does. No body gives a rats a** about it until they get mad about some other offense and want revenge.

They have different last names...sheesh. Besides, nobody loves you as much as daddy...he just wants her to be a REAL daddy's girl...whats wrong with that?

If you can't get a hot 18 year old to sleep with you, just make one of your own!
