I decided to give a tungsten guide rod a try on my Glock 35.
I also ordered a variety of ISMI springs to try.

Looking for recommendations for spring weights for both minor and major loads.

I have a full length tungsten guide rod in my G24 (was peviously in a G35), ran it with both 15lb and 13lb springs with both major and minor loads and both ran flawlessly. I prefer the 13lb spring and it has worked great for 10's of thousands of rounds.

14#, i'd run a wolf spring. i've had better luck with the round wire springs than the flat springs.

edit: for minor loads i'd try out a 11 or 12 pound spring.

I've thought about one for my G22. Let us know how it works for you.

Just got to a little testing. Much less than I had hoped, it was pretty chilly this morning.

I started with the stock spring to get a feel for how the gun felt. Then I ran the same load with the tungsten rod and a 13# spring. Couldn't really tell much of a difference.

Then I switched to a new load that I am wanting to run. This load had slightly more velocity than the other, but felt much lighter in felt recoil.
The problem is that it didn't want to feed 100%.

The old load was a 180 gr rainier plated HP with titegroup at 170pf.
The new load was a 170 gr Kead lead SWC with American Select at 171 pf.

I have ran several thousand (other) lead SWC's through the gun without any problems. I think I still have a small qty of the last batch of those to try.

I changed too many things at once to be able to make a determination as to what the problem is. New Spring, new bullet, new powder. I also had not chamber checked the new load before going to the range.

Update on the 170 LSWC's

I loaded up some more and added a little crimp, It was definitely an ammo problem.

Update on the spring & guide rod

The gun ran 100% with the 13# spring. I shot it weakhand, ganksta style, and even weakhand ganksta. (trying to envision any scenario that would cause a failure)

It also ran fine with a 15# & 17# spring.
