I had about an inch of VV N320 in my powder hopper and a box of 500 115 JHP's to load.

I loaded a few (80) at 4.4gr and they shot well. I wanted to tune down the powder charge a bit (3.7gr) to stretch out the powder.... bad idea. Instead of drawing and firing an 18 round course of fire in practice, I ended up stove piping almost the entire first mag. The rounds were really underpowered and the stock spring was a bit stiff for the amount of energy.

I went to my trusty bag of tricks and lubed the M&P 9PRO with a lot of liquid lube. I went and fired the 185 rounds with nary a problem.

The loads were barely cycling the slide. All my buddies kept walking by and just under their breath, calling out..... poof, ....poof, .....poof.

I had a good time shooting, but the teasing was hilarious.

I am glad all rounds fired fine and got rid of the last bit o' powder.

Note to self....don't cheap it out.

Now what to do with the last 220 bullets and about 2 inches of VV N350?

A load that light that shoots accurately and is reliable is hard to come by and they are extremely fun to shoot. Kinda feels like shooting a S&W 52.

Jerry, my normal load for Production div. is 4.9 of N320 under a 115 !
Even large poppers go down like a cheap ________ !

It's over the new "book" spec from V-V, but it was the book max about 9 years ago & I've been shooting it that long. About a 142 PF, and VERY accurate from my 34.

Thanks,

I ran the last 1 1/2 inch of powder with this recipe:

4.2 grains VV N350
147 JHP Zero
1.125 oal
.378 crimp

Crono'ed 128 PF out of my M&P 9Pro with a 10 round string

That last 1 1/2 inch of powder made over 200 rounds!!!

Now that the N350 is gone. I can go back to N320.
