Oh man !
I'd take either the first pic or the doe in the last one for the freezer.
Both are primed sized for hella good eating.
You're gonna be eating good next week for sure

Yup. Actually, there is a spike that will hopefully go first. I didn't post his pic. Big boy will stay untouched if I have my say. Build a great herd with him, ya know?

That's the way to do it ;)
Big and healthy means a better quality herd.
You wanna see em get big and fat in a hurry, plant a little oat patch.
An oat patch is like crack to deer, they can't stay out of it and even the big, sly or skiddish bucks will trot right out on it and eat till they can't hold anymore - twice a day too if you have a big enough patch

Yup, I know about the oats. Just can't do it here. For one, it isn't my place. And they also have Llamas and Alpacas there...no idea what they would do with the oats...besides obliterate them.
I reset the cams today and refilled the feeder. Go check in a day or two.

I'd have to take that doe, no way around it.
I haven't seen a better lookin specimen for eating in a long time.
I like big bucks, but a nice healthy doe is just so incredible good.
I'd take the spike just to cull it if I had to choose from both at once.
Big buck, or 3 year old doe in fine condition, absolutely no hesitation - we'd be having back strap on the grill and doe chili this weekend ;)

I would too, Slick...BUT. The guy wants the bucks thinned out first. May go the doe scene at the end of the year. Last year, he had 9 bucks....more than double what he should have. I have no clue how many are there now. The feeder got screwed up and they stopped coming at the same time..plus its still rut time. They may bunch up again later, but for now, all we can do is guess. Spikey will be my first shot....soon hopefully.

That makes sense.
I bet about three years from now the place will be crawling with two year old bucks with fat beams
