I finally gave up on Angus or PV getting anymore any time soon.
Called Roze (aka the front desk at Zero Mfg) in Cullman Al. Chatted with the nice lady for a while and discovered they were actually producing 45 230g fmjs now. Same with 124 fmjs in 9mm, had some 147g hp in stock.
If you aren't ordering a huge amount they will squeeze you in pretty well, let us little guys break in line some. If you have a real rush order (like a match coming up and a bare bullet cupboard) they'll take care of you if they can.
Price? Not CRB banging low but OK for these days considering they make good stuff. Besides, they have 'em.
Mix and match, hit the breakpoints and you get the lower price across the board. Shipping included too.
SO?
230g FMjs $114/k delivered
124g FMJs $77/k delivered
147g JHPs $95/k delivered
(Paid $104/1000 for Win 230s from TJ Conevera last January. They're gone now, won't be coming back at that price. )
I learned that 10,000 is pushing it as far as getting squeezed in, but they said OK if i didn't mind waiting for them pulling them over a week or so.
Fine with me, these are just going to be bench ballast, "insurance" for future loading.

I bought 7K of the Zero 230 FMJ's a couple of years ago and have not reloaded 45 for a long time. I am glad I always over buy and put it away for a rainy day.....

Zero will usually sell to you at dealer prices if you have a C&R or a bidness license of just about any kind. They're great folks to deal with and the ladies who answer the phone sound like angels.

How much off is the typical dealer pricing? 5%? 10%?? 20%???

What was ROZE, basically the ZERO Manufacturing front office, doing with Ranier bullets?
Was thinking of getting a C&R once. Maybe will look again.

Zero put on a BIG sale of Rainiers as a promotion. The reloading forums got hold of it and flooded them with orders. They got backordered for months but stood up and filled all the orders. Thousands and thousands. Heck, I bought thousands and thousands, but lucky for me I got mine before the landslide hit.
Frosty, HERE (http://www.cruffler.com/whatis.html) is a good explanation of the FFL 03, Curios & Relics license.
