how often do you replace your recoil springs? i normally change the spring every 3-5 thousand rounds. i dont count my rounds so i just estimate and change as i figure it's between the 2 figures.

if i buy a used gun, unless i suspect it's been shot very little i normally replace the spring first thing.

i dont currently have any replacements on hand for my glock 22, the only auto i have at present. but i need to get a couple to keep for spares.

I replace a spring at the first sign of any issue on the range.

I have a G23 with well over 30k thru it that has the spring it came with when I got it (used) still in it. Never the first problem.

I swap Sig springs once a year or so if I'm shooting a lot.

i had a smith 4006 that really had a weak spring when i bought it used. but i've never really seen a glock with a weak spring. could be i just havent run into one yet.

interesting that yours has had 3oK+ i've heard that if you dont replace the spring it will batter the locking block on the glock

Not that I can tell so far, but 99% of what I shoot is range ammo, light loads. Next time I pull it down I'll double check the block

Thanks for the heads up on that

I have two model 19's. My main one has somewhere north of 57K rounds through it on the original spring. It is definitely weaker than the one on my other 19, but still functions 100 cement.

I replace my Glock recoil spring assembly for my part-time carry G19 every 3K as recommended by Glock. I switch out to older ones for practice and gaming depending on the load used.
