I don't post the "read this on another board" threads, but I read this on another board. The stupidity of others puts food on my table, but this still makes the jaw drop a bit.

A feller was discussing having finally experienced a double charge after loading around 15k rounds. He survived and the gun did okay as well. His revelation from this to be shared with others? Here it is word for word.

DO NOT DRINK WHILE LOADING! Even if you think your progressive press "won't let it happen".

And to think I don't even drink water while I'm reloading due to concerns over lead.

Dope.

What about smoking dope...

Did he say anything about that?

That is so dumb it doesn't deserve a response.

But here it is. Dope prevents glaucoma. Glaucoma prevents you from being able to see. Ray Charles never handloaded ammo. So, logically speaking, Ray Charles could have loaded ammo while smoking dope had he not been blind.

DO NOT DRINK WHILE RELOADING...

That's a piece of raw brilliance right there.

It does bring to focus the most important aspect of reloading, PAY ATTENTION

No music, no phone, no internet, no interruptions, lock the door to the loading room and focus 110%

Nothing else we are likely to do in a typical day warrants so much attention.

It always amazes me when someone has a catastrophe and is surprised.

I know, stuff happens, but every one of us knows if we follow the basic rules of reloading, safety and good practice, this kind of thing won't happen.

Or......maybe that's why Mr. Dillon picked the Schlitz Malt Liquor bull shade of blue for his press. He knew a progressive would allow for boozing it up while reloading but for liability purposes he had to be sly about sharing the info.

BL,

You need to post that person's username, realname, home phone etc. He must be properly identified as the moron that he is.

I'm gonna have to step in and agree with that all the way.

I wouldn't want to live within a country mile of that fellow.

Post a photo too so I can run in the other direction if I ever see him ;)

I disagree. BL did the right thing posting the key sentence for us as a warning. Posting the guy's realname and phone number crosses a line.

Here's my easy solution. I'm not shooting around anyone using handloads for three months. I reckon he'll be dead or handless by then. Come march I'll lift the ban.

LOL he'd only be reposting it from another public board if he was serious (which he wasn't). Its not like he'd be wikileaking it out or anything.

You can't fix stupid. Stupid SHOULD hurt. See...it all works out.

I used to have friends like this clown. Then I grew up, dumped them and moved on.

Most of those kind are hopless drunks, dopers or whores. Sad but true.............................................. .........:insane::biker_h4h::censored:

Hey, I used to watch "Judge Judy" on TV until I got wise. Now it's full concentration and the job at hand. We all learn through experience.

Anyone watch to the end and see the part loading primers. He sure takes the hard way.

I might have a bottle of water around, but that is it. I'm sure some would disgree with even having that there. PM is right about the primers, that is the hard way.

even though im not a seasoned loader.. i see nothing wrong with having a glass of sweet tea close at hand. long as i dont get it on the primer or powder and in my mouth it's all good.

Kind of common sense not to be distracted at all when loading.

If you are loading so fast you cant follow the stages , slow down or take a break . I think even prescription meds , diabetes , blood pressure , pain pills are as bad as drinking or dope . Life is all about good judgement ,,, we are not gettin any younger .
