I have 2 issues.

First the bevel base on my hand cast bullets is getting a bullet lube ring around them when sized/lubed.

The bullet lube is cloggin up the bullet seat die and the crimp die on my dillon 650.

Here is the set up.
Saeco mold # 43 http://www.redding-reloading.com/online-catalog/88-bullet-moulds-charts

Lubersizer

Thompson Blue angel lube

Belling the case enough to let the bullet sit in the mouth with out falling out.

I think the die cloggin issue is related to the lube ring at the base of the bullet becasue when I reload using my 9mm bullets (mould # 384 RN Flat base) I do not have lube clogging my dies as much.

SO what do I do....

I am worried that it will get so bad that my bullets will be seated to deep and this may cause pressure problems when reloading 10mm.

I keep a little mineral spirits and some pipe cleaners handy for when I load alox coated 200g 45s.

One thing you can do is get a piece of thin foam like from an egg carton, cut it to the exact diameter (or just over) of the sizing punch and then stick in down on the punch. the bevel at the bullet base will still get a little lube but it should be much less than is was.

Or you can buy a star and avoid the issue since it is a nose first "through sizer" that doesn't have to run the base past the lube holes under pressure (like on a LAM II

Best option is like cohutt says, go with a Star... or use flat base bullets as any top size lube sizers are going to put lube in the bevel.

You can always wipe it off each bullet, but man, that's a PITA if you're doing a big run

The egg carton disk works remarkably well if you get it just the right size.

The center becomes compressed under the bullet base but the bevel is mostly filled by the uncompressed part.

Just saying.

I bet you could also take some aluminum foil and crush / shape it such that it would fill the void between the bevel and the bottom of the sizer pin.

You could indeed, but, that requires you do it every run and the egg carton styrofoam thing works great, for the first 2-300 or so, then starts to crap out.

I've sacrificed a gas check to use in the die before, it also works pretty well, for the most part, but you trash an uber expensive gas check and have to keep track of it between runs.
