I got a great offer on a pair of Osprey Suppressors. One is .45 ACP and one in 9mm.

I have no shortage of 9mm's that can serve as a nice host for the Osprey 9mm. I shoot that caliber a LOT in 3 gun matches and have plenty of guns that can host that can.

The problem is that my .45's are 1911's. I don't want to thread a barrel on my 1911's because of the work I put in them matching the bushings with the barrels.

My other .45's are S&W 625's and obviously aren't suitable for a suppressor.

So, I find myself in the enviable position of looking for the perfect host for an Osprey .45.

I'm thinking about a Glock 21, and threading the barrel for the suppressor.

But with the gluttony of guns threaded from the factory, I thought I'd ask what you guys think would be the best host for a .45 suppressor and why?

FN 45 Tactical?
HK 45 Tactical?
Sig 45 Tactical?
Smith and Wesson .45 Tactical?

G21 all the way, because it's cheap, it will hold up and 10mm conversion is cheap if you want to use it for other things

Probably the best platform every made for supressing a 45 acp is the H&K P9s chambered in 45 acp.

The folks over at Parkcitytactical.com will tell you more about them.

In short... they have a fixed barrel and the action using roller locking lugs. Because the barrel is fixed the added mass of the can has no effect on the operation of the weapon.

They are kind of pricey. I had a P9s target and it was a really sweet pistol.

I would at least consider it before you buy anything else.
