Hard to believe no one has posted on this. Ruger is gonna sell a boatload IMO. Many think the safety is superfluous however:

i seen it in the email updates ruger sends. neat gun except i dont like the safety much. looks like a copy of the keltec pf9 to me. i had one of those for a while and it was junk. jammed like crazy with winchester ball ammo.

Thanks, I was out of country for a year and finally got fed up & quit GT after more than a decade. I was one of the first guys on GT but just could take no more. :badmood:

I been out of the country for two years +

It's good to get home now and again.

Glad to see you're moving to Tejas Boge.

If you need a map of my ww gathering route just so we don't start an open range war by mistake and all, you can just use the following.

I cover where it's either red, white or blue :

I was wondering if you were the person with the same screen name over "there". Was just reading about gen4 "issues". I find them amusing. Anyway, welcome back!

I kinda like the new LC9 of which you speak. Hopefully it has less teething troubles than the LCP did.

I saw the LC9 t-shirts on the Ruger website and was wondering if was going to be similar to that in style...I was right.

That makes two of us. I don't spend too much time there anymore, either. The, 'peanut gallery' just seemed to be getting larger and larger; and it became tougher and tougher to ferret out really good technical information.

(I swear all the really useful, but unfavorable, threads seem to get, 'swept' every couple of months. Some days reading Glock Talk is like reading a very long commercial.)

Another new and somewhat interesting take on the compact 9mm.
I am strangely intrigued by this gun but that could just be me missing my Gold Combat.

The LC-9 is a knock off of the PF-9, just nicer looking with a slightly larger trigger guard. Ruger, not being completly clueless, duplicatedthe first generation lockwork of the P3AT into their LCP and had the same problem's as the first gen P3AT. They've pretty much done the same with the LC-9. The second generation PF-9 work's very well but need's a good clean n' lube before shooting about a hundred round's through it to break it in. Mine followed pattern of about three FTF in the first fifty round's and then ran fine the rest of the way.

Creekwalker, I was always lead to believe that all Keltecs needed a good "fluff & buff" to run reliably. Then that has changed?

You know if you want a slim small 9mm I would suggest the Kahr P9. I have had mine for about 5 years now. It has been nothing but perfect. When I was out of the country I loaned it to my dad. the only way i could get it back as to buy him his own.

I kind of went the cheaper route and got him the CW9. Which is super nice but a lot cheaper.

Cool thing about the CW 9 is that it has conventional lands and groves so you can use cast bullets.

Yep, the 2nd gen changes helped out a lot. From what I've read a few will still slip out that need to be tweaked or replaced, but nothing like before. I know a lot of folk's who're running the P3AT, PF-9 and the P-11 with no problem's at all from day one.

Just about everyone of them are 2nd gen gun's but a few are first gen. I'm really hard to please with a service or off duty pistol and I won't say KT's are perfect, but I will say you get your money's worth out of the deal. The thing to remember with KT's is keep them clean and lubed and make sure you use a very good lube with them.

I agree that he Kahr is a great platform, there's just not a lot of wiggle room when your buying one and the extra money was a big deal to me for a BUG. If I decide to replace my G-27 though the Kahr is very high on the replacement list though.

Had the same problems with GT. I kept sending them polite e-mails trying to get some sort of response, any response. Well apparently I did. Last time I tried to send an e-mail it said my IP address had been banned from the site! I guess it says a lot when they have a thread just for people who have had to join again with a different name just so they could access the site to try and get things set up properly with their intended info.

Oh well, all is not lost. I probably would not have ended up here if not for their incompetence!:cheezy:
