What would be a fair price for wheelweights and scrap? I called a local yard and asked them how much for WW and they said .25 a pound.Hell 100 pounds would be $25, Don't sound bad to me but I'm new at this.

I called yesterday, they said 68 cents a pound. I laughed my butt off and hung up on them.

I stopped at the gas station I do 90% of mechanics and fuel from for the past 14 years. I can start collecting some WW. One guy gets some all ready and some race car guy gets some occasionally. Don't know if I will cast yet but it sure won't hurt to collect.

Damn! My WW search has come to halt! My gig only pays one time a month. Gotta wait till next month. Probably un-ethical as hell in my profession, but I got a client who who is going to ask the Desiel mech. about WWs at the trck stop he works at. That would eb a score. Another guy, who owns a tire store wanted $100.00 for a 5 gallon bucket!

I would buy it at that price. All kinds of people are crying about how things used to be. Well You can not buy a candy bar for a dime anymore either.

Suck it up and be glad you are not paying 1.00/1lbs.

Remind him you'll be chairing the committee picking his nursing home someday.

Since da barn from hell is in demolition transit, da lead is going under lock 'n key. Dat a be da prudent thang to do. A deterrent, however slight, ta keep nomadic lead whores such as yerself at bay. :coolgleamA:

$100.00 for a bucket full would probably end up being more than $1.00 a pound by the time all the clips are skimmed off.

Depending on how full it could be less than 100lbs to 130lbs. You loose about 15% in clips so your net can be 85lbs or less to 110lbs
