I'm resizing some .223 cases and I'm using one shot NH in the spray pump bottle. Using a Lee resizing die I got a stuck case on the third round. Switched to a Hornady die and I got another stuck case on the fifth round. I was able to get the case out of the Hornady die, but the Lee is ****. My question is how much lube should I be using? With the Lee die I was using just a little lube using the advice "a little goes a long way". With the Hornady die it was dripping wet and still got stuck. Any ideas here?

1. Buy some imperial sizing die wax.
2. Use it as directed.
3. All your problems will be over.
4. Thank me.

This stuff works great. Just a thin layer and no sticky:

+4 on the Imperial...that little tin will last you a long time...you really can use that stuff sparingly.

Oh yeah...back in the day...someone on GTR actually got Redding to send everyone free samples. If you write them and say you want to try out their product they might just send you a sample.

I guess I will be trying some imperial. Funny thing when I was reading a while back on GTR everyone said one shot is the only way to go. Just my luck. Anyone have any good tips for unstucking a .223 case?

I had one stuck case in a Lee 223 die. I pulled the rod out of the die, put a small philips screw driver in there and hammered the **** out of it until the case came out.

The only stuck cases I've ever had were loading .223 with HOS.
If you read the posts on ar15.com reloading forum, 98% of the stuck case posts are using HOS.
I do hear that aerosol HOS works better than the pump version I use.
Once I switched to Imperial wax, I've never had one stuck, and press operation is smoother to boot.
That being said, I do use HOS for pistol cases and .30 Carbine just because it is so handy.
Layusn1, with Lee dies you don't even have to remove the decappping pin. Lee says to loosen the collet nut and use a hammer and punch to drive the decapping pin down to remove the case. I did it quite a few times before I wised up and started using Imperial.
