It seems to me a lot of gun owners will own one gun of a particular type, but desire another. And it isnt that money (or the lack of) causes the problem it seems.

For me, in the full size handgun category, i carry a glock 22. it's my only full size handgun at present. It however is not the gun i desire most. I would most like to have a colt series 70 1911. I could sell the glock, put some cash with it and buy the colt. but i dont, i make do with what i have.

i've seen other people do exactly this. they end up making do with a gun they like, instead of buying a gun that they would LOVE.

any of yall do this or recognize this condition?

I finally got wise and decided to spend the extra cash and get what I wanted first time around. Have a Colt 1911 Govt model and also the Defender for carry. I also have a Colt AR15/6920 I like shooting a lot with ACOG glass. I also like my G23C which is a lot of fun to shoot and very accurate with my reloads. Just recently (within the last week) I got myself a Rem 700 PSS in 308 and think this was a good move as well. I see a lot of guy sell/trade one of their weapons and then regret ever doing so for the few dollars they may have made out. I say wait until can afford and then get what you want and keep anything you had purchased years ago. My two cents for what it worth.

I used to be real bad about never selling off any gun under any circumstance. I finally decided they are just objects and I wouldn't become so attached to them - with one genuine exception. So, I now shuffle stuff around and actively move guns that don't/no longer interest me to go after the ones that catch my eye.

This gives me alot more freedom on a couple levels, but it don't seem to be bringing the much desired Colt Commander .38 Super my way.

I think about the only thing that fits in this category are NFA weapons.

I have a Lage M11/9 and would like an MP5. They won't sell me an MP5 and that's why I don't have one.

True I can get a registered sear and build an mp5, but that's a close as I can get.

The only thing I feel Like I "have to make do " with is my long range rifle.

I would like to own a Accuracy International Arctic Warfare rifle. However all I have is a 700p in a Accuracy International Chassis system.

What I have is great. But If I could have anything It would be a AI AW.

I have owned 2 NIB Colt Python's, but have never shot one. One day I will find a decent deal on one and actually shoot it.

A colt python is on my list of future loves. I would have no problem firing a NIB python. I wouldnt buy it as an investment though.
