Well I got lucky again, got a bit of lead bestowed on me.
We did some testing on handling lead scrap trimmings for an outfit that makes X-Ray shielding for med folks. They didn't want the test samples back & they've been sitting in the R&D warehouse for a couple of years.
Monday last, I inherited it, about 1700+ lbs !
From the MSDS sheet, the stuff is like 98% pure lead.
Now if I can just find a lino donor, I'm set !

Wow is right. If you don't find enough lino, I have a BP gun whose cast boolits use pure lead...

That, sir, is a fantastic score. Ain't never come close to scoring that much at one time.
The fruits of the Hustle have made me complacent and lazy. I really need to get on the ball before all WWs go steel and zinc.

Anywhere near Chicago? I have a pretty good sized smelting burner and pot set up.

I thought I did pretty well getting about 2lb of old used SN100C Lead free solder when we cleaned out one of our solder pots. It is about 98% tin. Pales by comparison now!

Frosty, that 98% tin would be like gold to go with the lab lead.
Pitmaster,
I'm about 50 miles NW of Chitown.

Haven't you been watching the news, that stuff's got radiation on it, probably kill you unless you ship it to me. I'll take it off your hands for $100, which'll barely begin to cover my costs of disposing or it.

Actually, this is several year old Pre-Tsunami lead, so it's safe.
But I REALLY appreciate your concern for my well being !

That is sweet stuff.
I had to unload my tonnages of that stuff by hand.
I got over it though.
