One of the girls at my shop asked if I have ever cooked lentils. I'd never even heard of them. So I told her that I would ask some experts that I knew :cheezy:. Y'all got any tips or recipies?

There are lots of recipes on allrecipes.com. I use a different just about each time. Lentils are great in cold weather.

A bean by any other name's still a legume.

Mullah's got it pegged. Use 'em like beans or peas. Mrs. Z makes a chikin lentil chilli that is really good. Lentils and rice is good too.

I sometimes make a bean chili using the same recipe that I use for venison chili except I substitute butter beans in place of the meat to complement the kidney beans.

Ham and lentils are great together. A few "extra" ingredients make it wonderful!

I used to go to the lentil Festival every summer.

Wow it brings me back. I miss the Lentil/Chocolate cake.

The lentil chili, the lentil soups Oh my.

My mom used to make a lentil and ham soup, along with some sort of Italian lentil soup that was really good too (I believe that Carraba's serves a version VERY close to mom's). They are mild flavor, but I like them since they are a little smaller than many other beans.
