Our new office manager at the Out patient Treatment hut I work at told me her pappy has a bunch of lead sheets used for plumbing. She said he used to reload a lot but hasn't done so in years. So I told to ask him if he would sell any of it.

My question to y'all is this. What's it usual tin ratio, if any, and what else would one expect from lead sheets?:chicken:

Sheet lead is most likely pure. Some plumbers stuff used to be 50/50. Either way get it if the price is right. You can figure it out later

Those sheets of plumber's lead are used for shower pans and repairs. The repair sheets and prefab pans are fabricated by the same outfits that make lead roof jacks for drain vents. They aren't 100% pure Pb, but are dang close.

Cool, thanks y'all. I put the diplomatic pressure on to score some.

You can ingotize that stuff and trade it on a front stuffer forum for wheel weights, 1:1 wheel weights gotta be ingotized tho.

Lead sheets are great. If you can bend them by hand it is probably pure lead. I had 80 pounds of it, but traded 13# to a guy in Alaska for some sprue plate lube. Best stuff on Earth.

Years ago I bought several ingots of linotype from a printing company that folded.
Ingots were about 2 ft long and thick as my wrist.
Wish I had 'em today!
