No, I don't mean vibratory tumbler.
Knew it had to be somewhere, found it deep under the bed. Cleaned it up good, changed batts, but no go - thot she burned it out the last time I left town for an extended period. Turned out the spring contacts needed to be extended.
What for?
Solved the problem of occassional non-repeatability. I noticed when I rapped the shelf w/ my hand, the beam would settle to the same point with a check weight. So I figured the the vibration brought the knife pivots of the beam to the lowest point on the pivot bearings. I thought of using an aquarium air pump, but found strapping the "excitor" from a standard-found-in-all-households-remote-powered-vibrator easier to attach.
Pop in the amount to be weighed, a quick pulse of the power button, wah-lah, consistent & accurate reads everytime.
Okay, I'm ready for all the stupid comments, bring it on. Koski, where are you?
