.44 Mag and W231="good stuff Maynard"!
I just finished cleaning my new 329PD after shooting 50 rounds of .44 Mag, what an easy clean up. There was no unburned powder residue, in fact there was very little to clean up. Granted, they were powder puff loads consisting of 8.2gr of W231, 240gr JHP, CCI #350 magnum large pistol primer, loaded to a OAL of 1.600".
I now have a supply of CCI #300 large pistol primers which I just used to load up another 50 rounds. Upped the powder weight to 9.3 gr using the "correct" LP primers this time.
Hope they shoot just as well as the load with the magnum primers, and am looking for a little more power with this batch.
That is all, carry on.
