Anybody here carry this gun regularly or just love to shoot the snot out of it? I've owned them a time or three and ain't looking for reviews. I'm looking for regular users. A die hard fanatic would be even better.

I was able to shoot a couple of them and liked them when I did. A 226 and a 228 are on my wish list, but a good ways down the list.

I like Sigs, in fact I own three. My P226 is a W. German 9mm with the JK (1989) date code on the dust cover, it is a sweet shooting pistol that I basically had refurbished inside and out, AEP done by Sig along with new night sights, and the slide was sent out by them to be K-Koted again, CCR refinished the frame in a silver color, while doing the controls in black.

My other two Sigs are a P239-9mm, and a first generation 229 SAS.

Thank you very much BL! :mf_w00t2:

PM sent your way.

I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth, but what's the reason for the gift?

I've had a couple P226 9mm pistols over the years. The only thing I can figure is I must have traded into a Sig with extra mags and put these away and forgot about them. I've not had a 226 in some years and don't anticipate getting one any time soon, so I figured somebody here could get more use out of them than me.

I was starting to wonder if anybody here shot these things. They happen to be fantastic guns.

I'm a die hard p228 man as I have medium sized hands. I love the p226 as well but the only one I ever owned had the dreaded "one in/rest out" syndrome whereas the first round always impacted a few inches from the rest of the group. Seeing as a new barrel was the only solution I traded it.

Every other one I've shot has been perfect. They are a good sized pistol however and just a bit too much for me to conceal comfortably. The German/WestGerman made ones with the folded slide are as reliable as the sun.

I have a 226 in 9mm that I have run and run. It was a duty gun before we switched to the Glock 22 and I put 10,000 rds through it before the dept. sold it to me and it still runs great, I probably put another 5,000 through it since then and have yet to have any real problems. I wish it had a rail, but besides that it has been a fantastic gun. It was used when it was issued to me, so as far as totals on round count I have no idea. I have this one and two Sigs in .40 and they all have run great.
