I heard about ringtones aimed at children since they are at frequencies that adults and older people have a hard time hearing. The website, http://www.freemosquitoringtones.org/ has a set of tones and the average age that people can still hear that tone. There is an interesting discussion going on in the other listserv where people are reporting their real age and the "age" of their ears from this test. While the trend is certainly towards hearing loss as the years go by, it is interesting that some people are a decade (or more) better or worse than their chronological age. It would be interesting to see how this shooting community fairs out in comparison.
I'll start. I'm slightly under 50 yet I can only just make out the "60 year old" tone. :-(
ETA: By the way, the "play" button beside each tone doesn't seem to work on my system - even for tones that I can hear, that is! I found that clicking on the download button started my player and gave me the tone.
