I'm looking at a new .45 acp mold for my 1911 and XD service. I've got a 200 gr. SWC TL mold that my 1911 likes. The XD sometimes does a number on the first step of the SWC (2nd round only) with a full mag. Seems the back rim of the first fired round is hanging on the step, occasionally even tearing the brass of the case mouth.
What's the difference between the 1 and 2 ogive round nose molds and which do you like? Is there a better profile to look at?

No difference in the XD really. I used to have one and had the same experience with SWC. All RN were fine.
Left is a group buy Lyman copy from a Lee Mold. Center is the Lyman, right is the Lee

Those look like they'd feed good, no sharp step to catch on. The bad thing with the SWC is the better fill out I get, the sharper the step is and I get a hangnail of sorts.
What's the diff. 'tween 1 and 2 ogive?

The 1 ogive is just one continuous radius, a true round nose. (the one on the right)
The 2 ogive has a larger radius side and a smaller radius nose making a pointier bullet so to speak.
