(Warning: Not much of a thread, limited or no added value to GP)

Didn't start out to do it but I did some long needed inventory sorting, ended up getting stuff in some order again.

This ended p being some work, btw.

Cohutt, you found my stollen lead! God bless you man! I was sure I'd never see it again!

A good man you are!

I'm sending one of my chronies over to retrieve it.

You realize he has a selector switch and a can on that 45 of his, don't you Anvil?

Cohutt, your lyman comparison ingot pointed out exactly why store bought ingot molds are not where it is at.

For faster casting & long term storage you can't beat the big ones.

That being said, i haven't tried to drop any of the big ones into the casting pot yet. Whenever I reach that point I'll try and remember to preheat them before dunking them.

But with all the bins of smaller sized ingots of all type behind "the great wall", it is still several years off:

twix 6 and 6.5 lbs, 6.25 lets say

Jawja hooked me up a while back; i am in process of trying to have some more made by the welding class down at the votech college.

They are a good size, big enough but not too big.

Actually been rearranging some more. I had 26 more to add to the wall since the last pic, ended up restacking according to source/type.
back tall column is soft pipe/flashing
middle two columns are 99.9% pure shielding scrap
front corner column is berm
behind it is ww
Had to graduate my lino to a 5 gal bucket too

Friday evening. I lead a glamorous life, eh?

I realized I have access to a tractor with a pallet stabber, so moving my stash just became much easier.

I was out of lead at Easter. I think I am sitting on 1500 now.

Here is a taste.

that's a nice bucket or three of lead. They have matches at that range with some plywood target boards? nice, self fluxing.

How long will 1500 lbs last you with that lead sucker of yours? about 3 hours?

yammerschooner

How fast I go through lead depends on caliber. I will measure it sometime for various bullets.

415 plus grain 45-70 bullets would probably suck it up in a day and a half. The wheel weights that add another 600 lbs aren't near as clean as the backstop stuff pictured here.
