Anybody ever shoot a NAA Pug? Just wondering what you think about them.

Personally I would rather have a Guardian in .380 or .32NAA, but if you need something super small in Pug size I would go for the Black Widow instead. No doubt a .22 Mag makes one HELLUVA bang and flash out of a 1" barrel, and that in itself might be enough to send bad guys running for cover. My only real hangup on those little revolvers is they are single action and in a personal defensee situation all I want to have to remember is to pull the trigger. You can get .22LR cylinders for the .22 Mag revolvers to use as a reload or just for plinking, so that might be fun.

I chrono'd Winchester 40grain FMJ 22 mags in my 1" Minirevolver. They scoot at about 1000 fps. I carry shot loads in it in my briefcase. After a friend of mine shot a robber in the belly with a High Standard derringer, I don't place much faith in one. The robber looked down, put his knife back in his pocket, and muttered"Some days it just don't pay to get out of bed". Then he turned and walked away.

I've toured the NAA factory twice, got to shoot several guns into their snail trap. They are curious guns, but I don't particularly care for them.

If I delivered pizzas, I carry a full size pistol. Wait, I already do that.

If you are carrying a .22 for defense you need to practice hitting em in the head. A .22LR or .22 Mag in the forehead will stop an attck pretty well a good majority of the time. Yeah, there are the times where it might scoot off the skull and out the back, so aim for their eyeball. A COM shot with a rimfire just seems like a bad idea to me.

A 9mm does not count as a full size pistol.

Blueline has shot my fancy Silhouette loads. He has new respect for 9x19, said so again yesterday. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

A friend of mine bought an NAA pug 22 mag revolver recently and let me be the first to fire it. Wasn't bad to shoot, fairly accurate from a range of 20-30 feet even. Loud little bugger. But the gun kept misfiring and wouldn't cycle right, kept wanting to jam up.
The rear sight appeared to have been installed with brute force, there were metal shavings stuck to the rear sight cut and the sight was loose.
I would like to see a competition on speed reloading of that gun. You have to take the cylinder off to load it.
I'm glad that he has no intention of carrying it, bought it for just a fun little gun to have.

I've had the Mini .22 LR version for the last 11 years. It was just one of those guns that I had to have. It's built like a swiss watch. I once fired a friends .22 magnum version and the kick was a bit snappy. My last couple of trips to the local gunstore has peaked my interest in the PUG version.
I carry either a Glock 23 or 34 as my duty weapon with a S&W 442 in my weak side pocket. My mini rides in my back pocket or in one of my belt case holsters. It also makes a fine "Sunday go to meeting gun and with my belt case holster, a fine BBQ rig. A speed loading competition may be kind of fun. :)
