What do you do with all the ammo you bought last year?????

Does the state buy it from you or just trade you one for one for the #'d stuff???

How far would you go to protect your Lee hand loader, or your LM? When they kick down your door will the atf really think you could make ammo with them?

well from the guy i work with he said you have till 2010 to get rid of it.Either shoot it or turn it in. What worries me is what will i do with the garand?you can only shoot military ammo out of it because of the risk of slam fires

My guess is the 1050 folks need to worry. We all know how long those will last in the evidence locker.

Remember 'Slick's post on GTR when he exposed that this legislation is being started by a single company. They applied for the patent for this process and with such legislation, they will have a monopoly over all ammunition. This is a profit motivated bill.

That bill died after the first reading. IN ain't changing on time soon. We're trying to get school carry legalized.

Just means that the ammo manufacturers are going to give a big :dita: to selling ammo there and if they have a hair on their ass they won't sell to LE either. Kind of along the same lines as Barrett give CA the finger about working on their .50s since they outlawed them.

Do you think law enforcement officers will enforce a law like that?

We have a saying.... "You see and you don't see.". I won't ticket a car with no headlights due to it having the front end been smashed up in an accident and headlight repair being impossible from the damage. (I see cars like that really often).

Is it a violation? Sure it is. You can't make me write that ticket though.

I don't think anyone in law enforcement gets into "the job" to violate people though there are ALOT that would!

I didn't realize any state passed the bullet serialization BS. Thats just gonna keep ammo out the hands of law abiding citizens. How much does serialized ammo cost? what do they do background checks? I see the burglary rate skyrocketing in the next few years. The criminals are going to have to get ammo from somewhere.

In the link provided to the bill here, I didn't see anything that prohibited the posession of uncoded ammo. It was only the commercial manufacture that was an issue. So, as I read it, reloading would still be permissable. Just don't go selling your reloads.

Hell NO! If it looks like some bs law like this might pass in Kali, I'll buy enough components to last me (if figure another 20 yrs should do), get set up for casting, & spend the rest of my budget on guns.

The U.S. constitution acknowledged my right to keep & bear arms - NO ONE IS GOING TO TAKE THAT RIGHT AWAY FROM ME! :dita:

I just read this on the NRA Illinois legislation.....any one hear this?

One piece of good news came, surprisingly, from the House Executive Committee. While this committee regularly reports out anti-gun legislation, it rejected House Bill 4259 (http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/billstatus.asp?DocNum=4259&GAID=9&GA=95&DocTypeID=HB&LegID=34703&SessionID=51), an ammunition serialization/encoding bill. This is just one of several bills that seek to implement this new gun control scheme, and while all remain alive, technically, the vote this week in Executive Committee casts serious doubt on their future viability.

I can't get many suppliers to ship components to me. I have to stock up at gun shows and bring them home after dark on the subway. After 9-11 there are explosives sniffing dogs on the subway now. I always wonder if the powder leaves any scent for them.

So far it has not passed. It's back in the rules committee. People need to get busy e-mailing and writing letters to your congressman.

Seriously...if I couldn't reload I would either move or say screw it and sell everything...firearms too. They will eventually find some way to price us all out. But I do wonder this...hows about an anti monopoly suit against the company with the patent? Shouldn't other companies be able to offer the same process as well, at a lower fee? Shouldn't you be able to start your own company and serialize your own bullets? What law says the serial number has to match a specific format that only one company is allowed to use? Maybe a cost war drive the cost down to being pointless and the bill could get repealed. I know I'm dreamin..but still..
