I just finished the testing and design changes for the new LNL powder funnel. I'm happy to report, it works! I loaded several .45 cast bullets, including Lee 228 gr, Lee 230 TC, Lyman 452374 (GI profile), and generic 230 RNL BB. All loaded without shaving of any type of the bullet, both BB and PB. I loaded 9mm too, but I shoot FMJ in 9mm, so testing was limited to FMJ and was flawless.

The design is a universal design from 9mm-.45, similar to the 1050 powder funnel design. I have yet to hear back, but there may be a possibility of doing a run of 9mm-.500, if sufficient interest exists.

I know we had a couple threads in GTR in the first quarter. Looking back, it appears there were several interested, including:

I know most made it "over the bridge", I'll try and get in contact with those who I haven't seen here. I know a bunch of you hang out on other forums, feel free to send people on over, the more the merrier (one bottle of Maker's Mark initiation fee to me required. ;))

Expected price is $25-$30 depending on shipping and material costs. Before all you CRBs jump on me, the powder funnels take 1 hour to machine and are made out of 304 stainless. Maker's Mark accepted for payment too. ;)

Here's some pics from the prototype (the machining is a bit rough, this is the prototype, expect the production run to have much better surface finish).

That is very cool. :blues:

Please forgive my ignorance, but what limits the flare on the smaller cases?

Me. I reload 9mm and .45, I originally commissioned the new powder funnel for a couple buds and myself, then it transpired to GTR, and here we sit.

I might play around with a .30-.50 one in the future, for .30 Carbine and Mauser like rounds, but I don't have time right now to do a redesign and prototyping.

As I don't have my LNL stuff yet, what exactly does this do. Because it looks like it would be perfect for all the pistol calibers I'm planning on playing with.

I am definitely interested. Happy to pay whatever it costs. I've been following the thread and one of the reasons I joined the board was because of this kind of knowledge and cooperative work.

Thanks very much.

I'm definitely still in! I'm tired of using the Lee Pro 1000's expander.

This is an improved powder through expander that P99 designed and fabricated. The one that Hornady makes is notorious for under-flaring case mouths for thicker lead bullets. Shaving occurs and a world of ****e insues. P99's has corrected the problem.

Having a PTX allows you to drop your charge and flare the case mouth in one step, thus opening up a free station where many may fill with the Hornady powder cop die.

Cool, I'm in as well then.

Hard to believe it all started as one of those, let's have some Maker's Mark and smoke cigars conversations.

soundwave, one small correction. I did the design, a buddy is doing the machining. He just started hanging out here, hopefully we're not to much for him. ;)

I'm going to get the ball rolling on the first run of these. I'll get detailed payment instructions together in a couple days, each one of these will be shipped direct.

Guys, PM incoming.
