Well after my father came up to visit and showed me pics of his workbench that he bought from Wal-Mart to mount his LCT, I bought one just like it. It works great. Much more stable than the desk that I had. I also stained the top and bought a separate board from Lowes to use as a shelf and stained it as well. If anyone is looking for a low priced workbench, I would suggest this option. The bench itself was around $86. Here are before and after shots:

Excellent! Looks way more stable. You forgot to paint the press crimson though.

Did you load while sitting in a chair with the old desk? Looks like the new bench will require either a stool or else else load while standing.

Nice Lookin' Bench!

I loaded sitting down at the desk. I now load standing. I almost prefer to stand now. Thanks for the compliments!

Nice set-up, I prefer to standup when operating a 550 too, it allows me to use more leverage and look inside each case prior to seating. How long will it take you to convince your dad to get a 550?, father's day is coming up shortly.

He likes the 550, but for him the LCT is just fine for now. Maybe as he gets more and more into it he will need to load a lot of rounds at a time. He is already starting to scavange brass when shooting. When he, shovel66 and I went this past weekend he went to almost every lane asking if they reloaded and if not could he take the brass.

He may outdo me with the LCT I traded with him. He seems to be enjoying using it. Had a Lee Turret years ago, but seems to prefer the Classic...who wouldn't? Hopefully he will get Embarq over and get his DSL set up soon. I know he was mighty glad to have an account set up here and is is greatly appreciative of the fine folks here, yourself included jawjaboy.

Looks good. I was just over at Lowes today and they had a similar bench for 79 bucks with some drawers. Hmmmm, I'm loading on an old desk now.........
