I got the in-laws gas burner last week, and started in on the drums of lead I have. Using bottom off a R-22 cylinder for a pot, 2 pair of large vise grips for handles, and pour.

The first green drum (barely seen at bottom left in pic) had lead up to about the first ring up from bottom, it is empty now, and the 2nd green drum is down to ring just above the label, and a 5 gallon pail already full of steel clips. None of the neighbors said anything about the random smoke clouds yet, though it been windy, helps spread/thin out the smoke.

Forget to mention, the drum at the door has went from bottom of the white band, to just above the white band with current melt,,, sucker is to point I can't tip it,, it's heavy.
Disregard the 1/1/12005 date, have not correctly set camera date yet.

I'm not, I don't like the effort it takes, but i need to reduce the pile of dirty lead to clean material that take up a little less space.

My pouring been slowed a bit, I'm only pouring 24 muffins at a time.

I can't seem to find more aluminum mini muffin pans, all I found at Wally World, Meijer, and Target (on-line) is 24 hole steel pans with some sort of coating, so I mail the manufacturer to see if the coating will take heat of 700-750 degree lead for ingot making.

Capt, you should see if Adam can hook you up with some of those C channel ingot moulds he's got.

Hell yea; Ill loan em to ya. Probably got enough to pour 100+ pounds of ingots.

Or I could just load up everything in the truck and come up there. We could have a big old smeltin party:driving:

How long did it take you to get all that lead?

A lot of it moved in here 10 1/2 yr ago, had it in storage unit before I was married. I have (5) full drum that for most part just sit.

What I been getting in last 5yr or so has been turned into muffins, some of it traded off, and some of it I cast for myself... Last mold party was Aug 2003, cast (1500) 45acp 230gr RNL, and (2000) 9mm 124gr RNL.

Back about 12 or 13yr ago, I actually gave away 2 drum straight from the shop, just so I would not have to deal with them, the local casting fella was tickled silly to get them.

My current supply from shop (new job) is rather dry, as they will not buy any weights for steel wheels, but have piles of new lead for wheels we do not use, but the GM used car fellas use them randomly on their used cars. The bucket next to machine is almost always bare, but I manage to scrounge a few weights occassionally, but looks like somebody else is scrounging besides me.

For tape weights, we do not have any new.... They is using some new 3M stuff on a roll, there is a line-weight measure, pull it out to the proper weight line, and use attached cutter to cut.
