I have 2 tumblers. a old lyman poptop and a frankfort midway one. I fill the bowl to 3/4 full most of the time. I think I may be putting in too much.

Is there a general rule on how much media to add to a polisher?

Ditto. I fill about 60%, put in the cases, then fill until about 1-2" from the top. I can tell if I have too little media (or too much brass) if the tumbler has a large amount of rattling happening.

I just add until the cases have good movement, a flow kinda like a wave, falling into the center

I cut mine down to being 1/2 full of media before I add the brass and now there is a lot more movement. I will keep it this way from now on.

Right, 50 to 60% full before adding cases makes for better cascading action and more agitation. They'll clean anyways but I've found the brisk movement speeds things up.

If I remember correctly, my RCBS tumbler manual said to fill the tumbler up to about 1/2 full with media, then add brass. I have been filling it up about 1/2 way with media, and it seems to work fine for me.

Aliitle more than 1/2. Too full & it takes longer to clean the brass, they don't tumble as much.

I fill up to about 75% of the bowl, add the Nu-Finish and some mineral spirits and wha-la they come out clean and shinny. FYI using a CV-500.

I ad nu-finish about every 4th load. I add about 1/4cup of Isp. Alcohol to the media and let it mix in to make the media wet. Not sure but IMO it reactivates the polish. worx for me....

I fill my tumbler about 60-75%....I like the cases moving pretty fast.
